@cigarettewater5@TTBN_GAMING I cannot tell if your comprehension of the English language is unfathomably bad or if you're just simply a retard. Maybe baiting? Who knows.
@cigarettewater5@TTBN_GAMING I wouldn't necessarily say they fucked up, and they're only saying so bc of the backlash.
The only fair "issue" with the email subject line is in the double usage of the S rune at the end, which is merely unfortunate. Something like that should not bother you to this scale.
@Les_Bien_Pain@TTBN_GAMING Interesting. I wasn't aware it wasn't the correct unicode form of the rune.
However, I would say the symbol they did use /does/ look more appropriate for the game in question, but considering they were aware of potential misidentification, does make that choice particularly odd.
@ixamisus@Elizabe00808115@TTBN_GAMING You're replying to every one of my replies so this is the last I'll respond to you for my own time's sake.
Brother, the wheel and S rune are both literally in the image I sent--directly from the email. As for the sun symbol... what is the game called again? 🤔
@ixamisus@cigarettewater5@TTBN_GAMING Might point is that people are blowing this whole thing up massively when the entire subject line of the email is being viewed as something it's not.
They're not SS symbols; the wording and symbols it uses /directly/ relate to the game the email is about.
@fenbyrat@TTBN_GAMING Yeah, no I completely agree. I think that is the only fair complaint about the email tbh.
It is odd to have 2, but the chances are high that it was an honest mistake and was used just to make the email subject line look more eye-catching.
@Erzaned@TTBN_GAMING Yeah, it's unfortunate that the Nazi party adopted symbols that hold great similarity to lightning bolts and/or Germanic runes, but that's what they are. I get the issue, I'm not saying it doesn't exist.
But, this is the game and email in question...
@cigarettewater5@TTBN_GAMING I really deeply think it is only "bad" because of how you choose to see it.
It is unfortunate, and they could've used just one of the runes to avoid this issue, but the fact of the matter is it *IS* a Germanic rune -- not an SS symbol -- directly linked to the game it references.
@Elizabe00808115@TTBN_GAMING Well, I mean, except they're not...
"Runes" are a form of alphabet used by Vikings and other tribes (aka before Nazi ruling). If YOU choose to link what is a Germanic symbol (be it a magic lightning bolt or alphabet rune) to the Nazi regime, then that's where the issue lies.
@Emzyl_ but you're okay with o'reilly, who's the same age, and cherki who's a year older?
I agree the cut-off should maybe be earlier than 21, but I could understand a cut-off at 21. so if you're mad at anyone's nomination, surely it should be cherki, the 22-year-old?
@elpavinomr@EpicNNG nah, YouTube probably had the worst of the issues. about 30% of the entire showcase had the audio desynced, which was horrendous (and that's on top of the stuttering)
@Deezus_Walks gotta be ragebait, no? objectively big announcements (even if they're not your cup of tea):
Resident Evil: Veronica, Cuphead 2, Alien: Isolation 2, The Wolf Among Us 2, genAtlas, FFVII Revelation
6 big announcements is huge for SGF, and much better than this years State of Play
@RejectedShotgun I agree. The only gripe with it that I understand is the idea that this *could* have been free, unlockable cosmetics earned through playtime/achievements/general gameplay etc.
BUT it's a single player game; who are you flexing on? I don't care, and I'm all for Halo funding.
@SWLuddite@LavenderGhast so 5 years later than the trailer of the game this person has used in their tweet to reference the term?? 😭
still, I don't remember hearing this at all. but, ghosts was the beginning of the end for cod, so it all lines up pretty perfectly.
