I wish more people cared less about being seated in the VIP section. I wish more people cared less about being at the so-called main table within the VIP section. I wish more people moved through life with a little less obsession over hierarchy, proximity to power and symbolic status.
None of these things matter as much as people think they do. A seat does not affirm your worth. A table does not enlarge your importance. A tag around your neck or wrist does not elevate your humanity.
What matters is what lies within the depths of your soul. What matters is your character. What matters is your ability to sit comfortably amongst ordinary people without feeling diminished. What matters is ability to engage everyone with the same warmth, dignity and respect regardless of title, bank balance or social standing.
Some of the most remarkable people I have encountered carry themselves with ease. that comes with no performance, no entitlement and no desperation to be seen. They understand that self-worth is internal and it does not collapse because you were seated three tables away from perceived importance.
There is something deeply liberating about not needing constant validation from rooms, seating plans and optics. To know who you are, regardless of where you are seated, is a gift. A marvellous gift.
@luphumlongcayis Reason why China made a rule that if you don’t have qualification in a subject you not allowed to speak on it on public and social platforms…Podcasts in SA will be the end of many including non celebrities
We’ve just signed an MOU to revitalize sports in all public schools.
The implementation protocols in the MOU will allow for greater resource sharing between our departments to boost sports, debate, indigenous games, spelling bees, national youth camps, amongst others.
