@AndrewGspeedrun Media is destroying dopamine reception and habits. Ready to largely unplug personally; I have a really hard time using it in moderation/responsibly
@AndrewGspeedrun Could be hud doesn't update at consistent times, since that's the way you're measuring. Smb1 is very inconsistent with updating the hud for example
@Alex_Citrico@Alchesis The left+right tas doesn't save any framerules. Actually, it would make a perfect run to 8-4 a lot easier. And a perfect 8-4 much much easier too, other than 1 single frame which is much much harder, haha.
@xeroles_ It can! I actually showed it at one point in my video and wanted to mention how ANN:SMB is technically the fastest version. But didn't get around to it. I'll mention it in a future video that's on a similar topic, making that one in August
@xfi_obj Just for clarification, the "TAS record" is 4:54.03. Here "the TAS" means the TAS which follows the rta rules, and doesn't press Left+Right at the same time. I think "The TAS" is not too confusing based on context, but here wanted to clarify since "TAS record" is less clear
Another name in the SMB1 Any% history books, and easily the best record to date! The 8-4 is immaculate. He saved 3 of the remaining 9 frames that could be saved, which means just 6 frames or exactly 0.1 second to go!
After 7 years, I've finally done it. 4:54,365, I'm the first ever brazillian to have untied WR in any% of smb1, and it's way better than I ever expected to have it be. HOWEVER, the grind is not over. There are still 6 frames to be saved until I'm done. Stay tuned! :)
Somewhat of a companion to yesterday's video, today we're talking about the same room, except this time we're going up through it instead of down. This room is notorious for being a massive pain in Any% runs especially, and has definitely cost me a lot of runs over the years.
@AndrewGspeedrun standardized wouldn't be any less arbitrary- still arbitors making a blanket decision. Don't think can standardize because the best thing for each game is different. Smash has very different rules between entries, and those are way more similar than speedrunning across the board
