Some people are defending Kriti Sanon’s ad, where she ties a rakhi while wearing a bra, by saying, “She can wear whatever she wants.”

But the question is: Can you wear a bikini to a mosque? Can you wear a bikini to school, college, office, or a wedding? Obviously, no.

The reason is simple. Every place and every occasion has its own dress code and rules.

If we respect the rules and traditions of different places, then why should Hindu festivals and religious traditions be treated differently?

You can wear whatever you want in your own home. Nobody has a problem with that. But when you publicly promote a religious festival through an advertisement, you should also respect the festival, its traditions, and people’s feelings.

This is not about taking away anyone’s freedom. It is simply about understanding that different places and occasions have different standards of dressing and behavior.

If someone publicly represents a religious festival and ignores those standards, people have every right to question and criticize it.

You out of all people shouldn't be talking about taking cultural responsibility at the cost of dictating freedom! We all know how you press your women! Why do women have to wear burkhas in your culture? If they want to wear what kriti is wearing let them right?

Studies show Islamic women have weaker bone density and respiratory issues because how oppressive a burkha actually is. No getting any sunlight on your skin is the definition causing weak bones because of sever vitamin D deficiency! Putting a woman in a burkha/hijab all her life is not just oppressive and inhumane, it scientifically impacts the quality of her life and health. Just look at what Irani women did to the burkhas!

If terrorism had no religion why are 80% of terrorist organisations all Islamic?

And why do Muslim men get the right to cheat whenever they want in their harems while the woman had to suffer? The day you being a muailm yourself can marry a woman who has multiple men married in her harem and can pick whoever she wants, at will, you being nothing more than an option and still respect her and treat her like a goddess, is the day you have any kind speaking rights about "cultural responsibility". That's what you think. And that view is very narrow minded inconsiderate. I don't have a problem with what anyone believes. You can believe in bloody kathulu for all I care. It becomes problematic when only one culture is targetted. I would not wear clothes like that going to a Christian festival, an Islamic festival, Hindu festival, Jewish festival because not everyone's vichaar dhaara is the same, forcing your ideology in an unneeded place is what radicalisation is all about. The most open minded thing to do and considerate is to reign in your beliefs for a moment and respect the scantity of a place or a festival and a people to avoid hurting anyone's sentiments. Only narrow minded people think "because of my so called fake feminism I'll force my ideology on others because I'm the only one who's world view matters". you are purposely hurting a crowd to feel better about yourself, to feel like you are right and superior, and there is nothing more insecure and ugly than that. She had the choice respect every culture and not wear clothes like that for a festival where a lot of people's sentiments were tied to, she selectively chose disrespect. That is on her. Nothing is more narrow minded and inconsiderate than that.
