@ProudSocialist Their governments serve the bureaucrats. They should wake up but the protest should be for less regulation, more freedom and less govt handouts.
@ThomBrady5 This isn’t the end for him, it’s the beginning and his future will be better because he’s willing to work and not bitch. As long as he isn’t focused on the stupid shit you’re obsessing with, he’ll be fine.
@dredgedskeleton@clairlemon Those rights were taken 80 years ago by similar mobs. European penchant for falling in line like stooges and inability for independent thought, leads to what happened 80 years ago. Innocent Jews, what few remain in Europe, are right to worry.
@iowahawkblog I’m with ya. #4 is wildly over rating a show that requires us to believe a billionaire business leader changed his mind on the succession of his life’s work like which sweater to wear to the bar. The flip flops got to be annoying.
@BBGreatMoments Personally wouldn’t have Cy or Hank as high. Both were great for a long time. I don’t think either were ever the best in the game at any point in their career. I’d like to see more dominance and not just longevity. Great list. I love stuff like this.
@RepLuna 2% for a gender studies degree? Or communications or anything else that won’t earn enough to repay? Terrible investment based on risk vs reward. Every bank should turn that down. As should quasi government organizations but we know that’s not how it works.
Silence him?! He went from irrelevant to having a larger audience and being canonized by Senators. Kraft amplified his voice. If you love Macklemore so much you should be thanking him. Or is this just about the inherit jealousy Commies have of anyone who is successful?

@elonmusk Or the artificial constraints imposed by government can be removed and nuclear can grow again and drive down energy prices. I like that idea better. Solar can continue to grow but nuclear can support growing energy needs.
What do you mean? The promoters were free to disassociate from his comments. I don’t see where anyone’s freedoms were impinged here. At least not by a governmental entity. Unless someone in Gov’t sent an email to them pressuring them to drop him, kind of like with what we saw in the Twitter files.
I distinctly remember the emergency sirens going off monthly as a test for nuclear war. But I was a Navy brat and lived near a naval base during the Cold War. Being generous to what he was saying I think of that as being the “trauma”. Not trauma as I would define it but still off putting.
This 100%. They are private businesses. These are decisions private companies have to make all the time. They need to start acting like the private companies they are and not quasi governmental organizations that get subsidized for their non-competitive cost structure. Private businesses close all the time. This is a good thing. Another more competitive business can take their place. This is the great advantage of capitalism.
I’m sure not, but they all find ways to charge exorbitant fees (in my opinion). Sports is just one way to create expenses to justify the fees they charge but not the only. Administration is a very large percentage of costs, especially smaller schools. Athletics at smaller schools is also a net cost (brings in less than it generates in revenue) and again a higher percentage at smaller schools. Those costs get passed to tuition expenses as the revenue generated by athletics is no where close to covering the expense.
Alabama is probably a bad example , their football program basically funds the entire athletic department. Overall in 24-25 athletics generated a $30+ million profit…. According to Grok the only cost passed along to students is “athletic support” which is scholarships they offer athletes. That golf facility was probably a blip in their overall budget.
