World Sr. Citizen Day & Vigilance Awareness Week are just PR. Where is the actual policing?
While MCD showcases surprise sanitation inspections, the ground reality for a 73-year-old senior citizen tells a starkly different story. Though a clean area around the kooredaan in Vikaspuri is visible, widespread encroachments and administrative casualness persist. At 73, I am suffering for the last 13 years and am left to suffer heavy air pollution and an unclean, encroached environment due to a lack of accountability from those responsible - very casual approach was shown by the violation as depicted in the photo of 16.05.2026 for which I had to struggle to get the same addressed. However, encroachment in and around, in general, and public street on the back side of my house is only forcing us to inhale poisonous air.
When official handles speak of peaceful nights and security, I am compelled to ask: why is this sakoon (peace of mind) denied to a 73-year-old senior citizen? For 13 years, I have simply sought the redressal of legitimate grievances without dislodging anyone, yet I remain ignored in routine matters and birthdays. True security must be felt on the ground, not just declared online. (Unable to reply directly to the post below due to imposed restrictions, I am sharing this reality - Proofs attached - violations continue demanding karyawahi.) Reference Post by DCP West Delhi: "The city may sleep… but our vigilance never does! 🌙👮♂️ Even in the stillness of the night, DCP West District, Delhi Police patrolling is ongoing. Intensive checking in parks and public places, sharp vigil on suspicious activities, and continuous surveillance for your peaceful nights..."
For the past 13 years, I have continuously fought for the redressal of legitimate civic grievances. In the midst of this struggle, I pay my deepest tribute to Nana Patekar for his unwavering support to our farmers, sacrificing his own comforts for a greater cause. Nana Patekar was a real Titan—unmatched and unforgettable. Though I never met him, I learnt a profound life lesson from his work. He stands as a true prateek (emblem) of dignity and truth. This is a tribute from an Eklavya to a great Dronacharya—with a modern twist: I never went to him in person to learn, and he never demanded my thumb.
Recently, the Hon'ble Lt. Governor of Delhi outlined a comprehensive playbook for officers, emphasizing accountability, seamless coordination, and public purpose to achieve #ViksitDilli2047. Yet, looking past the polished rhetoric of PPP frameworks and capacity-building programs, governance ultimately boils down to a fundamental clash: Power vs. Intent.
Will those entrusted with authority translate high-level playbooks into genuine service for ordinary citizens and seniors, or will administrative inertia continue to hide behind false optics? True public service demands authentic intent, not just administrative toolkits. Comments on my Dronacharya vs. Reality faced by me for the last years say it all

Dear @LtGovDelhi Sir, Unable to reply to the DCP West Delhi post on community policing due to imposed restrictions, posting the unvarnished reality of my life. When official handles speak of community policing & bringing smiles to seniors, the lived experience of a 73-year-old citizen tells a very different story. Active on social media, author of four poetic books, contributor to the PM National Relief Fund, Guest Faculty, and an Advocate who donned the black robes in 2024, I have spent 13 years fighting a lonely battle for peace and dignity, ignored in routine matters and on birthdays for five consecutive years. Yet, in my 70s, learning continues through my YouTube channel (In 70s Learning Continues @PrateekNeRakhaDhyan). Governance remains a game of power versus intent.Amidst this struggle, I pay tribute to Nana Patekar as my Dronacharya—an emblem of dignity. As an Eklavya learning from afar, I share this to awaken authorities: solutions exist, but what is needed is genuine intent, not false optics.#NanaPatekar #Governance #Accountability #CivicSense #Leadership #ViksitDilli2047 #SeniorCitizens
Echoing the Hon’ble LG’s recent emphasis on the profound role teachers play in shaping society: education goes beyond classrooms—it is a continuous test of character and institutional accountability. One can only wish these reflections are taken in earnest by those in authority whom I have long striven to convince, though not with success as yet.

Dear LG Sir, In the midst of your posts, DCP West posts 'Your complaint, our priority', following 'We Listen We Act' on 20.09.2026 suffering for 13 years and fighting alone, enclosing: (i) A copy of the response from NHRC showing a reminder for the communication sent to CP Delhi after a gap of 10 months. (ii) Visual evidence of law violations on March 2026 and October 2026. Is the convenience of law violators taking precedence over the redressal of legitimate grievances? How can a retired Principal of SKV Najafgarh Road and a retired Director, Advocate, Author, and Guest Faculty—who has consistently contributed to the nation—maintain confidence? Forgotten on birthdays for five successive sessions, feeling scared for pursuing a legitimate cause for the last 13 years, yet wanting to live another 13 years of a productive life. An email has also been dispatched to SHO Vikaspuri. Having fought in judicial forums to secure legitimate claims denied to me for over 6 years, am I not being forced to approach an already overburdened judiciary for seeking my right to live in peace and with dignity? Is this in keeping with the promises given, or is it that my wife failed as a Principal and I failed as a Guest Faculty or system is failing us? Will this get attention of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Sir?
Dear Lt. Governor Sir. How can me (73) my wife (71) feel safe? 20.09: PR optics claiming 'We Listen, We Act'. 21.09 onwards: Violations return instantly. 05.10: Convenience of violators prioritised over a 73-year-old senior citizen's rights. 08.10: Unchecked ground reality captured live (video attached) showing supremacy of law violators My 71-year-old wife lives in fear due to sweeping powers backing apathy. Is anyone listening? Fighting for the last 13 years. Now disabled from responding to @DCPWestDelhi posts.

Dear Lt. Governor Sir,This 73-year-old senior citizen states with profound pain that his 13-year perseverance for the redressal of legitimate grievances has been met with censorship—blocking his messages on WhatsApp by DCP West and silencing him on X.Alas, your quoted principle that "somewhere it starts with a single individual, other people join in..." could have been emulated by the DCP and his team by listening to a single citizen instead of locking him out. It is difficult to drive, walk, or inhale fresh air amidst this unaddressed reality. .@SandhuTaranjitS@LtGovDelhi@CPDelhi@DCPWestDelhi@official_dda@MCD_Delhi
How are senior citizens expected to feel when their daily existence is reduced to this? Visual proof of ground reality: Captured today i.e. 8.10.2026, just three days after the SHO's forced visit. Suffering for the past 13 years and my wife (aged 71) feeling scared due to the sweeping powers of authorities and the remark during the meeting that I am the only one who feels inconvenienced—convenience of law violators was preferred over suggested alternatives, thereby trivializing the lawful grievances of a senior citizen aged 73, reflecting an institutional attitude that goes far beyond any single personnel. High-level reviews and ephemeral clean-ups mean nothing when local enforcement allows violations to return instantly. When will routine accountability replace superficial optics? All this is happening while law enforcers and public officials are administering the Integrity Pledge. (Enclosing my published article on this systemic apathy for broader perspective.)"
"A senior citizen's choice: celebrate or complain? Today, at the age of 73, living with my wife aged 71, we are forced to ask this uncomfortable question. After 13 years of relentless struggle, lawlessness leaves me unable to drive, forced to dodge obstructions on pathways, breathing impure air, and facing total insensitivity to unchecked noise pollution.
The Delhi Speaker rightly proclaims that a healthy and dignified life for seniors is a collective responsibility. Yet, routine enforcement only occurs when senior authorities take notice. Nice to know about DCP West's 'Birthday Initiative', but my own 73rd birthday was ignored for five successive years. Fighting for a congenial environment—while keeping constructive solutions on the table—gets met with administrative apathy.
To make matters worse, not a belated birthday wish or realization, I am blocked on WhatsApp and silenced on @DCPWestDelhi for speaking truth. When intent fails to convert into reality, it is a senior's dignity—and a spouse's peace of mind—that pays the price.
My published article in The Statesman details this systemic abandonment of a senior citizen's grievances, despite explicit standing orders from the Commissioner of Police. Will the authorities finally listen and help this senior citizen—a contributor of ₹50,000 to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund—to live in dignity for another 13 productive years to contribute as an Author, Advocate, and Guest Faculty?

Attached newspaper report of the day on 'dignified life for senior citizebs' and Reality from a senior citizens aged 73 living with his scared wife aged 71 for his dignity and safety. Today, after 13 years of relentless struggle, lawlessness leaves me unable to drive, forced to dodge obstructions on pathways, breathing impure air, and facing total insensitivity to unchecked noise pollution.
Nice to know about @DCPWestDelhi 'Birthday Initiative', but my own 73rd birthday was ignored at least for five successive years. Fighting for a congenial environment without dislodging anyone—while keeping constructive solutions on the table—gets met with administrative apathy. 13 years of unaddressed encroachments, noise pollution, and choked streets in and around New Krishna Park, Vikaspuri. While token PR tweets claim 'prompt action', ground reality proves zero beat patrolling. True policing lies in prevention and empathy, not ephemeral optics. Awaiting actual karwai rather than administrative indifference. Blocked from sharing even thought-provoking articles on WhatsApp, I am not knowing who did that but now silenced on @DCPWestDelhi from responding to the posts on X. Brought this to the notice of SHO this morning (6.10.2026) through a message on WhatsApp after his meeting me on 5.10.2026 at around 8 p.m. Intolerance towards criticism only erodes confidence

Dear LG Sir, what about the safety of senior citizens aged 73 and 71 struggling for encroachment-free public streets and an environment free from noise and air pollution?
Having risen from the ground up, my work has received appreciation from national and international personalities, alongside my contribution of ₹50,000/- to the PM National Relief Fund. Yet, after a beautifully designed post portraying DCP West as a savior on 20.09.2026, when violations continuing are brought to light, this senior citizen's right to respond is blocked—silenced on X and restricted to the point of being unable to comment.
My grievances require karwai (ground action), not endless jansunwais (hearings). If safety and security are truly non-negotiable for Delhi, why are a 73-year-old senior citizen and his 71-year-old wife forced to live in unaddressed fear for 13 years?
I am ready to debate on any news channel on the legitimacy of my grievances with DCP West or any senior officer, and I will stop writing forever if it is proved that I am wrong.
A safe, vibrant, and dignified environment for our citizens must start on the ground.

Dear Lt. Governor Sir, Action within 24 hours when traffic congestion was reported near Parliament House contrasts sharply with the 13-year struggle of a senior citizen who—besides contributing ₹50,000/- to the PM National Relief Fund, earning national and international respect, and being invited to train elite officers at the SVP National Police Academy—is now digitally blocked. This disparity shows that real attention remains elusive. Presently, you either accept us or face whatever we offer, and there is no change in offer for the last 13 years: surroundings around me do not require Jansunwais but Karwai—clearing encroached roads and ensuring an environment free from noise and air pollution. Will this get attention please? I am literally scared and tired after a struggle of 13 years. Also posting video of 21.09.2026, besides other evidences on record, showing forced walk of pedestrians on the roads (this is immediately a day after claim of swift action of Delhi Police.) @SandhuTaranjitS@LtGovDelhi@CPDelhi@DCPWestDelhi@official_dda@MCD_Delhi
Where and how can this 73-year-old senior citizen living with his 71-year-old wife feel safe when I was silenced by @DCPWestDelhi on X, cementing a communication block extending from WhatsApp to X?
Will Hon'ble LG Sir take note of this administrative lockdown and ground-level reality?
The attached evidence of my being blocked shows it all, alongside 13 years of evidence of unaddressed grievances on record.
Sir,
October 1 was the International Day for Older Persons. For 13 years, this 73-year-old and his 71-year-old wife have suffered in fear—with sufferings completely unabated, despite a "decent closure" portraying the Police as saviors based on a report by a Head Constable who heard me 1 year and 3 months ago, while actual deterioration is on the rise.
While official meetings promise a fearless Delhi, robust patrolling, and zero tolerance, my published comments in The Statesman today exposes the deep trust deficit born from such PR claims versus ground reality. The evidence of 13 years is on record. Will someone take care of this senior citizen and the woman whose security is being much talked about, or is lone vs. many a losing game?
.@LtGovDelhi@CPDelhi@DCPWestDelhi@official_dda@MCD_Delhi
Subsequent to the posts I was visited by BLOs to verify my and my son Pranjal Chugh particulars. They were shown original passports. Placing this on record. I was told that no further verification is required. Incidentally while I was born in Delhi and shifted to this place in 1968, my son was born in this place only.
Is it @ECISVEEP’s modus operandi that BLOs avoid mandated doorstep visits, shut communication lines, and verbally summon a 73-year-old citizen to their chosen location just to show Passports/PAN for a clerical mismatch they created? BLOs in New Krishna Park are operating in complete comfort, skipping house-to-house surveys, and rejecting voter forms arbitrarily without stepping foot at our home. Meanwhile, helpline 1950 is defunct. Why must senior citizens run around when the law mandates door-to-door verification?
@CeodelhiOffice@SpokespersonECI @DM_WestDelhi
Instead of conducting mandated door-to-door visits in New Krishna Park, BLOs outsourced their duty to the RWA, summoning residents to an MCD school to sort out their own clerical mismatches.
Because they skipped visits and kept notifications shut, my and my son voter form was arbitrarily rejected.
Is this how @ECISVEEP conducts an intensive survey?
