@smcgohon21@DACats86 Agree, she wasn't a good candidate. I mean, she was nowhere near bad enough to make me vote for a huckster fraud but to each his own. Ride the stock market push to Christmas...once they start transition/cabinet names park money in land if you can find a tract.
@AdamFinkelstein@CBBAnalytics@TheCatsPause247 @ChrisFisher247 OO and LB both took awful midrange shots early...got to a spot with no one to pass to and just chucked it. Was jarring after the exhibitions...bet it was a topic in the next TO to not lose your shot selection discipline...sometimes timing means you reset and dig deeper in clock.
@DACats86@KyTomCat33 Especially as they get to competing in top 5/10. Everyone remembers Rick as run and gun and press but he finally became a shot selection, inside out, tough half court defense coach. The Tim Duncan game was masterclass...still can't figure out why he tried to trap AZ...
@KyTomCat33 Well, he was usually trying to get them to defend - teams that make the final four usually force bad looks. Of all the critiques of Cal in 2024 the only valid one I've seen is that he just gave up on trying to get Reed and Rob to defend. Rob was embarrassing against Oakland.
@BleedBlueCasey This reminds me of when we beat Morehead in 2020 and Matt Jones went nuts on the radio talking about how fast and lethal we were and we might run Kansas out of the gym in a week.
@KySportsRadio He and Butler are going to be very important in SEC play. Both are strong with the ball and can play through the hacks, takes, bumps that SEX refs can't seem to notice. We have to be able to threaten the paint with drives and posts to get the spacing and perimeter looks we want.
@AbeGreenwald You think she has a teleprompter for the debate she smokes him in? That's a conspiracy theory I hadn't heard yet. Did Fox let her have one when she talked to Bret B? My child at three could do the Trump office promoter weave...
@BBNWonka Did people think he struggled to find looks last year?
He wasn't a great cutter or passer...not sure he'd be a fit this year. He really improved his ability to get downhill and go up strong with a soft floater but I'm this offense you gotta be able to dish it off...
@KySportsRadio Bigs gotta be able to threaten...they'll get there. Timing on catches for post touches will improve. The story of the new older NCAA has been you better be able to play through the block well enough to force help if you want to be elite. The defensive toughness will be there.
@KSRonX Weren't we first or second in the country in scoring last year? The failing of Calipari was first and foremost defense...he couldn't get Reed or Dilly to figure out how to keep a guy getting downhill to save his life...
@michaeleaves Early prediction...KK is a 10 min max player in close games or gets remade in Pope's image. Too interested in being the playmaker and not in making plays. Bad gambles on defense, chooses a hard pass/dribble toward an open guy over moving the ball and the defense way too much.
@michaeleaves It looks good...but we have seen free movement and getting downhill in the pre-conf for years only to have to slog through grabs, chucks, knees extended etc to make a cut/drive in SEC play. hopefully a C that can do more than reverse the ball out high can unclog things.
@nanceyboy78@KySportsRadio Remember when Matt was so bitter that he wasn't Cal's pet anymore and he kept accusing Kyle Tucker of putting out PR for Cal? That was funny.
@bigbluefan1981@KySportsRadio Dude, everyone in coaching has their media stooges. Listen to how Matt talks about Vince Marrow sometime (or Cal in 2013). These paid talkers are there to fill time between commercials without you flipping and to curry favor with people in power.
