Home of the Delgado Community College Dolphins & New Orleans Baseball. Celebrating our 67th season of operation, the Tradition Continues with each Pitch!
It’s Opening Day of the 2026 All-American League. As a tribute to our 80th summer and America’s 250th Anniversary, league uniforms return to the red, white and blue color scheme this year!
It’s always great to see our Dolphin alums competing at the next level. Cade Pregeant (Lamar), Brock Slaton (University of Southern California) and Chris Olivier (Lamar) met up in this weekend’s NCAA Regional. Fins Up to all of our Dolphins in postseason play! 🐬🆙
Bigger than baseball, Kirsch-Rooney is named for two locals who died in World War II, Cy Kirsch and Bob Rooney. No baseball this weekend, but for 69 seasons it’s been a daily reminder of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the little things we enjoy every day.
50 years ago, “Rags” Scheuermann founded Louisiana’s first junior college athletic program at Delgado.
Today, we remember our friend, coach, and mentor on the 29th anniversary of his passing on April 7, 1997.
Two games at @KRStadium with 8 coaches with Dolphin ties: Rummel - Frank Cazeaux, Chad Foret, Mandeville - Troy Lewis, Christian Trent, & former Asst. Coach Brady Benoit, Brother Martin - Jeff Lupo, Matt Adams, & Pearl River Central - Buddy Turnage.
The @delgadodolphins impact.

20 years ago today, on February 12, 2006, the improbable became reality when “Rags” Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium hosted its first game post-Katrina (Delgado vs. Lincoln Land). The field was near ground zero of the worst natural disaster in American history, flooded, and wind worn and still came back to life just a few months later. Rooney was the first New Orleans sports facility impacted by the storm to reopen and hasn’t missed a beat since. It’s gotten better with age each year since as the Home of New Orleans baseball and a local landmark.
Delgado Athletics is more than just sports, it’s a family. Happy Birthday to an integral member of our family, Tyler Scheuermann! Thanks for all you do for our student-athletes and the ‘Phin family! Have a great day!
Beginning today and for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season, Delgado batters will wear a memorial helmet decal honoring Emma Scheuermann, a longtime friend and supporter who lost her battle with cancer this past May. The decal debut coincides with her birthday on September 29.
Each August 29th, the lights over “Rags” Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium shine briefly as a tribute to our neighbors, players, friends, and everyone who has been a part of our post-Katrina renaissance. ⚜️
