The Supreme Court just launched one of the largest attacks on immigrants in modern American history. Thousands of Haitians and Syrians now risk losing the right to live and work in the country they call home.
This decision will cause enormous pain across the five boroughs. Here in New York, it falls hardest on our Haitian community, one of the largest in the country, alongside Syrian families.
I joined labor leaders with 1199SEIU, elected officials, and advocates to send a clear message to immigrant New Yorkers: You belong here. We will not turn our backs on you.
@NYCImmigrants will share additional information and resources soon. If you have questions about your status or need legal assistance, call our Immigration Legal Support Hotline at 800-354-0365.
The graduating class of East River Academy earned their diplomas while incarcerated on Rikers Island. They chose to pursue an education because they understand their futures cannot be constrained by their circumstances.
Even in the face of extraordinary adversity, these graduates kept moving forward with faith in their potential.
Congratulations to the graduates of East River Academy. No matter where your journey began, this milestone belongs to you. You earned it, and I'm cheering you on.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani hosts Talk With The People with special guest, Allan Dabrio Marrero. As we celebrate Pride Month and near our country’s 250th anniversary, we're here to talk about freedom — and the many forms it takes. https://t.co/Hn1l9iMgjg
@JuneBos333@DavidSiegel99@nycDSA Ironically enough among the two of us you are the libtard here, dumbass. Take your money. Spent em on your schools and get your homelessness issue under control.
Four years ago, the Supreme Court stripped away a fundamental Constitutional right and put abortion care out of reach for millions of Americans.
Today, we're sending a different message. With New York State, we are investing $495,000 to expand the NYC Abortion Access Hub, connecting more people to abortion care, medication, transportation, lodging and support services, no matter where they live.
Abortion is health care. Health care is a human right. We're protecting that right in New York City.

@SireRottweiler As a Dane, after our recent election we have our 2nd largest party, a Democratic socialist party, in the governing coalition and a proud and openly anti-capitalist party as a supporting party. America doesn’t even have social liberalism. We’re getting universal dentist care.
I actually don't think it's that bad and I want to invite everyone into DSA. It is the ACTUAL big tent socialist organization and whatever your tendency you will find thousands of comrades here.
