A number of proposed changes were discussed at Mondayโs Isle of Man FA Rules Revision Meeting, with one in particular potentially bringing a significant change to Manx football.
The biggest talking point is the proposal to introduce promotion and relegation in the Combination leagues. The initial vote ended tied, and rather than using a casting vote to decide such a major change, clubs not represented at the meeting have now been contacted for their views by the FA President. A final decision is expected at next Tuesdayโs AGM.
Elsewhere:
โข Clubs will be able to apply to field just one team in exceptional circumstances. If approved, that side can compete in the Combination for one season only, after which any single team entered must compete as a first team. The rule has been delayed until next season (27/28) as clubs have already been affiliated for the upcoming campaign.
โข Match officials will receive increased fees, with referees rising to ยฃ40 per match and assistant referees to ยฃ20.
โข The Masters League will be split into two divisions with promotion and relegation. Fixtures will also be communicated earlier, while Premier League clubs must submit team sheets on Full-Time before the next round of Masters fixtures to help identify ineligible players.
The Combination promotion and relegation proposal is undoubtedly the biggest proposed headline change. Is it the right move for Manx football? ๐

A comprehensive victory for the First Team at Pulrose this afternoon.
Poor discipline from Pully really didnโt help their cause as they finished with 9.
