I think many people want to receive intentionality with no plans to give such back. Healthy connections only thrive when standards and thoughtfulness are mutual. The level might not be matching yet but it won't lack the effort.
And in all, value who values you!
She once casually mentioned that she liked thoughtful & quality gifts. I took note!
When I travelled to her city to see her, I brought along a book I thought she’d appreciate, a sticker photo she had said she liked, and another small item.
A month after I first met my wife, she flew from Paris to Valencia to visit me. I wasn’t at the airport to pick her up. I’d asked if that was okay and she said yes. I didn’t know it was actually a big deal to her.
2 months later I took the train from Amsterdam to Paris to visit her there for the first time and she commuted an hour by metro just to meet and welcome me at the train station.
I never needed to be told again.
Two years later we got married, moved to Nancy, and she got an internship at Baker & McKenzie Luxembourg. It was cheaper to keep our French apartment and have her commute by train. She returned every evening at 8:11pm. I was at the train station to welcome her every single day.
I kinda agree some men aren’t worth the asking. But men are not mind readers.
Find someone humble enough to hear what you want, and respond. Then show them what love looks like and watch them learn your language.
You have to ask. The right one listens. And then you stop having to.
She showed gratitude and seemed to "recognise" the effort.
Later, when she visited my city, she brought a single "stick sweet" from one of her travels. I received it with appreciation too, but I couldn’t ignore the imbalance.
What intent is in the stick sweet? 😭
I run every day for 30 minutes, if I miss a day I add 30 minutes to the next day.
This has truly been a game changer, tomorrow I’m supposed to run for 3 weeks.
1. As soon as big money enters your account, buy things in bulk - Cook in bulk, data, groceries, clothes, foodstuff. You are spending more to save even more later.
2. If you CAN’T do anything about it, don’t stress yourself about it. Worrying over things that are out of your control is a waste of time.
3. If you want to really go far in life, don’t womanize. It is one of the most expensive hobbies with little to no ROI. Not worth it.
4. Call your parents, siblings and friends whenever they cross your mind. It is the universe telling you something.
5. Don’t try to change people, instead change people. Read that again.
6. You are nobody’s last hope. Say NO as often as you can if it is inconvenient for you.
7. Fight your addictions early. The habit and lifestyle you build in your 20s plays a huge role in how long you’ll live on earth.
8. Don’t let money finish from your hand. It is hard but try.
9. Don’t date when you are struggling, in a bad shape or in debt.
10. Always have it at the back of your mind that you are on your own and nobody is coming to save you when things get tough. Choose you unapologetically.

I came late to the party, and it is such a shame he is yet to reach that global recognition deserving of his voice.
This tweet is my contribution towards your promotion. Wishing you all the best your talent deserves..
when escaping the trenches you need not pay attention to some things, being broke is enough trauma; basic Maslow's hierarchy concept. the need for survival is enough mental fortification!
