2026 is the year of the big reset.

The regulatory map has been redrawn across most of the world, and the financial and crypto environment with it. AI has already rewired how we conceive, build, and ship products, in ways most people are still catching up to. My conviction is that Supernova resets what blockchains mean, and what they can do, for institutions, for businesses, and most of all for the AI agents that are about to become the largest, most demanding users of digital infrastructure the world has ever seen.

Now, the time has come for Sergiu to move on, but he will always remain part of the xPortal / MultiversX swat team. Over almost four years, alongside the xPortal team, he made the product sexier, more useful, and more connected, bringing together ecosystems in a way that has elevated the experience, flow and defining moments for millions of users, on MultiversX and 15 other chains and communities.

One thing in particular I’ll look fondly on is the repeated drive to Cluj close to midnight, with the two of us sitting and talking long into the night about the next moves, the important and crazy ones, that would make xPortal more useful and more loved by its users. A heartfelt thank you to Sergiu, for building, pushing, and refusing to settle for the easy version of life. Go get the June 14th Ironman! Cheering loud from this side.

Shifting to what's next. xPortal enters a new phase.

We've been quietly preparing for this for some time. The team is well in place and in great hands, with a new internal lead stepping up in the role, taking the hard, focused steps the next phase demands. The first milestone of this new phase will be revealed in tandem with the SUPERNOVA GENESIS EVENT.

Ever since @MultiversX announced Supernova, I’ve been seeing the same thing everywhere:

Big upgrade.
10x faster.
Sub-second finality.
Game changer.

But honestly?

I noticed most people repeating the hype without actually understanding what Supernova truly does.

So let me break it down in the simplest way possible 👇

Before Supernova, MultiversX was already fast.

But the blockchain still worked in a more traditional flow:

1. Validators agree on transactions
2. Transactions execute fully
3. THEN the next block moves forward

Sounds normal, right?

The problem is…

Execution takes time.

Especially when lots of users, swaps, smart contracts, and apps are active at the same time.

Imagine traffic at a checkpoint 🚔

Every car must stop.
Documents checked.
Engine checked.
Everything verified before the next cars move.

Even if the road is good, traffic still builds up because everyone waits for processing.

That’s similar to how many blockchains operate.

Instead of making the network fully execute transactions BEFORE progressing…

Now validators first agree on the ORDER of transactions immediately.

Once the network agrees on the order

The chain moves forward instantly.

Then execution happens afterward in parallel behind the scenes.

Because the blockchain no longer pauses waiting for heavy computation before advancing.

The result?

⚡ Block times dropped from ~6 seconds to ~0.6 seconds
⚡ Transactions now feel almost instant
