He says the Iranian regime slaughtered 45,000 civilians in the streets earlier this year. In response, the U.S. quietly armed the opposition.

Then he added: he thinks the Kurds kept them.

This is a significant admission. The U.S. is not just bombing Iran from the air. It has been trying to arm an internal uprising.

That is a regime change operation by another name. And the history of this strategy is not encouraging.

The U.S. armed the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. It armed Syrian rebels. It armed Kurdish factions across the region. The outcomes ranged from complicated to catastrophic.
