@Luminato My next generation responsibilities include being the support that I had (or didn’t have) to younger people in my life, model consensual relationships in community and interpersonally, keep learning and growing. #LETSGOBACK
@Luminato I don’t actually think social movement or Indigenous resurgence is linear like this... would love to go back and learn more, maybe warn some folks about imminent doom etc.
@Luminato Other relationships that would also be useful: accomplices, land defenders, property redistributors, fundraisers, friends, intervenors, witnesses, care takers, dish washers - so many ways to show up for people. #getourbacks
@Luminato As many Indigenous folks have pointed out before ally is a term do war, which is accurate, but we also need consensual relationships that are reciprocal. Not self declared allies who have no accountability
Q2 - 'Feminist ally' is a term that's been getting a lot of attention lately. What's your own personal definition? #NOGOINGBACK https://t.co/q5xWt9Uqk8
We're focusing on the past, present & future of #feminism with a Twitter Q&A that features some of our incredible #NOGOINGBACK panelists and committee members https://t.co/4lWZv315lN
@Luminato In terms of ANCESTORS and inter generational convos - undoing and unlearning all the messed up gender stuff residential schools, forced assimilation, and religion that were violently imposed on our communities, also challenging.
@Luminato Not sure I would own them as predecessors but if we’re talking about western feminism then yes the basics that colonialism is genocide and Indigenous peoples experiences are real - all continue to be difficult 🤷🏽♀️
White people when they tour the Rez with a non profit org and wonder why everyone’s staring at them while they view the destruction of their colonialism https://t.co/3jgmRd5Uu1
The ‘Most Authentic Indigenous Experience’ you ask? The constant feeling of disappointed but not surprised in literally ever colonial institution. #kindermorgan#TruDONT
