A person orders 1 roti on Zomato. ₹40.

Then he calls the restaurant directly 6 rotis, paneer butter masala, malai chaap, dal makhani, gulab jamun and pays them on UPI.

Tells the restaurant to pack everything with that 1 roti Zomato order.

The Zomato rider picks it up. Delivers home. No clue that ₹1,200 of food is riding shotgun with a ₹40 order.

He’s using Zomato’s app. Zomato’s rider. Zomato’s entire logistics network and paying zero commission on 90% of his bill.

It’s cheaper than booking directly from Porter and restaurant.

The restaurant loves it. Full margin, no 25 to 30% Zomato cut.

The customer loves it. No platform fee. No surge. No GST on the hidden portion.
Zomato? Quietly subsidising the entire operation.

And here’s the part nobody’s talking about this isn’t one rogue customer. Restaurants are in on it. They may be whispering this tip to regulars to keep them off the app.

If this spreads, the unit economics of food delivery don’t just dip they bleed out from the inside.

Zomato needs to plug this loophole. This is exploitation of the system. Zomato MUST do something to stop this.

What does Carrick means with, that he doesn’t have the players to play his style? I’ve been thinking about that.

1. The below is a great break down. And it shows an effective way to play to get Bruno open and give him a chance to spring players, as well as creating dangerous counter situations. On the right side, we will also have Dalot coming from behind overlapping or underlapping. Our LB rotates into a back 3 in possession and does not go forward. Like Tommy Smith at Middlesborough, albeit mirrored.

But, it is a ‘risky’ way of getting up pitch. And when we lose the ball in the opponents half, which we will do quite often — and have not lifted our line up high — we become stretched out and it’s very easy for the opponent to transition against us. Get up pitch and establish controlled play.

2. This is only half of it, the way we get up pitch in the first phase. If we retain the ball but cannot penetrate the defense — Bruno will often drop down deep on the left side. After having over loaded on the right side, Bruno will in that situation have many potential targets moving in diagonally to the center from the right. This is also why he doesn’t mind a left foot at LW, like Dorgu. Bruno won’t pass it to him many times, but after a pass from Bruno who is out far left into the center — the player there will be in a very good position to put it in to Dorgu. Dorgu can also overlap on Bruno.

3. But don’t we have players to play this way? That is the thing — largely, we do.

I don’t think we would have had Sesko at the absolute top of the striker list, Carrick probably prefers more of a well rounded runner. Like say Igor Jesus. But that doesn’t affect how we play. And Sesko is fairly well rounded.

I don’t know what the leaks are referring to. But the one big big weakness I see in how we play — is how we can’t play a high line. It is basic logic — if you risk possession a lot, you must be good at winning it back fast. To win the ball back fast, you must reduce the space for the opponent and the only way to do that, is by pushing up the defenders. But we do the complete opposite.

So could that be what Carrick is referring to? Maybe. It is a bit hard to read — because I think our by far best CB performance in a long time came against Chelsea when Heaven-Maz played and raised the line a lot compared to what we saw against Brentford for example. Still, Carrick didn’t give them renewed confidence.

4. This could however explain the interest in Micky Van Der Ven. Which can be a bit confusing.

But MVDV plays LB for the Netherlands in the same formation. Back 4 that rotates into a back 3 with the ball. If you want recovery speed, he got it.

We now have evidence that gentle parenting doesn’t work.

Here’s an uncomfortable truth about parenting no one wants to say out loud:

The data is not kind to gentle parenting.

According to teenagers, strict curfews. strict bedtimes, screen limits, device drop off times, dedicated homework blocks, and sleepover restrictions IMPROVE higher relationship quality.

And yes, parenting difficulty goes up.

Of course it does. Leadership is harder than appeasement.

For the past decade we have been sold a watered down, Instagram friendly version of “gentle parenting” that often collapses into boundary avoidance, endless negotiation and emotional processing without enforcement. Parents terrified of saying no because they do not want to rupture connection.

But connection without authority is not connection. It is dependency.

When parents impose structure, the relationship improves.

Teenagers report better parent child relationship quality in homes with curfews and rules. Younger kids report better relationships in homes with screen limits and bedtimes. Even device drop off times correlate positively.

Why?

Because structure is not cruelty. Structure is love made visible.

A bedtime says: your brain matters more than your entertainment.

A screen limit says: your dopamine system is not fully developed and I will guard it until it is.

A curfew says: your safety matters more than your social standing.

That is not authoritarianism. That is caring.

Boundaries create friction. Friction creates growth. The parent absorbs the short term discomfort so the child does not pay the long term cost.

Children do not experience well calibrated limits as rejection. They experience them as stability. The human brain craves predictability. Predictability reduces anxiety. Reduced anxiety strengthens attachment.

That is why relationship quality goes up.

Notice something else in the data. The strongest effects are around time structure. Bedtime. Homework. Devices. Outside play. These are environmental constraints. They scaffold executive function.

The winning formula is not tyranny.

It is high warmth plus high structure.

The modern failure mode is high warmth plus low structure. That is just abdication of responsibility wrapped in empathy.

Children need leadership, not negotiation. They need adults who can tolerate their anger. They need boundaries that do not move every time emotions spike. They need someone whose prefrontal cortex is fully myelinated.

The harder path produces the stronger bond.

Because when a child feels that someone is strong enough to hold the line, they relax. And relaxed nervous systems build durable relationships.

All slots are gone till March for 2 or more applicants but every few days some slots appear in the middle of the month which are Premium Slots.

So the strategy works on the principle of FEAR. First show all appointments are not available for the next 2 months. Then randomly open slots but the Premium Slots and not the normal ones.

In FEAR of getting stuck without an appointment the travelers chooses to go ahead with the Premium Slots.

For a family of 4, what would have cost ₹ 7208 now would cost ₹ 31004. ₹23796 more for just because @EmbEspIndia doesn't want to do anything about it.

There are few Schengen countries which one should know aren't very fond of travelers from India.

Italy is one of them. I know many people who had to cancel their plans as they only had Italy in their itinerary, and slots were never released. This happens more for North India; however, for the Consulate in Mumbai, it's better.

Also, if a married couple is traveling together and one has a Schengen visa, they both can apply under the previous Schengen visa holder category. You can get this in writing from VFS; we have had a couple of clients who were allowed with this.

My recommendation, do not opt for Italy as a first Schengen destination or a primary destination.

GREECE another such country, which should be best avoided as a primary destination, currently they don't have a visa processor and aren't taking any application from India (joke of a destination). I have some contacts there and from what I have gathered this will take time, a country which doesn't take Indian tourists seriously should be best avoided. I have personally seen them rejecting unecessarily, I have a huge sample size to prove they just tick one reason (common) and reject Indian applications. They were notoriously famous for holding passport and sending rejection letters just before the travel. Its not like visas don't come from here, but best avoided. Do one thing go and read their google reviews (Greece Embassy Delhi)

Austria they are another absurd Embassy, they will randomly reject your visa and give stupid reasons. Appeal may work, but there are phases when they don't care. There was a time when we saw a pattern of bulk refusal to applicants from different city, different application dates getting refusal letters on the same date with a blank refusal letter, no efforts done to even put a signal.

Again, its not like that people don't get the visa from the above countries, they do get but honestly visas aren't cheap, add the processor fees and other variables you are atleast looking at ₹40k INR for a family of 4. Put it to better use, I have seen many families vacation being ruined. There are many excellent countries and who give great due respect to the application and here's a small list.

1.) Netherlands- My personal favorite, dutch bureaucracy is something which I have always admired but at the same time will recommend to folks having good ITR, and stable profiles in India. Ideal ITR range above 15 lkhs. Do not try with prior refusals. Processing speed moderate to slow. Known for multiple entry and longer validity.

2.) Czech Republic- A strict Embassy, which doesn't want you to change anything in itinerary post visa issuance but a very very good Embassy, no ideal ITR range, one of the cheapest Schengen countries to visit. Processing speed fast. Known for Single-entry and exact days visa.

3.) Finland - A very balanced Embassy, can be strict but processes application with care, don't use illogical itinerary or a pseudo itinerary like 10 days in Helsinki. They carefully read docs and process application on an average in 2 weeks, Expensive country. ITR. Known for Single entry and exact days itinerary.

4.) France- very fast, probably fastest in India, not recomended for folks with ITR under 10 lkhs. Do not apply if you have a lot of talking regarding your application. Know for longer validity and multiple entry.

5.) Switzerland- Very fast, Better to apply with high income for obvious reasons but no such ITR variance data to say lower may be rejected. Appointments are easily avaialable, no additional docs allowed beyond checklist. One of the only embassies that gives flat out 90 days visa with 30 days stay to even a first timer.

@vijayshekhar This is not entirely correct. Road dust isn't the largest contributor to PM 2.5. It's the largest contributor to PM 10. AQI is composed of both. However, AQI has the largest contribution of PM 2.5 which is largely because of vehicular pollution.
