Court Orders Lagos Businesswoman Funke Otti to Return Ikoyi Property, N410 Million to Ex-Husband
The Lagos High Court has ordered businesswoman and former NTA staff, Olufunke Otti, to return a disputed Ikoyi property and refund millions of naira to her ex-husband, Chief Isaac Morakinyo Jolapamo.
In a judgment delivered on March 26, 2026, in suit No. LD/******/2022, Justice Olufolake Adewunmi-Oshin ruled that the property at 23A & B Olusegun Aina Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, rightfully belongs to Jolapamo and must be handed over.
The court also directed Otti to refund N410.347 million, being the balance from the sale of two vessels, and an additional N63 million earned as rental income from the property between 2018 and 2021.
She was further ordered to pay N5 million in general d@mages. The dispute stems from the couple’s former marriage. They met at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) and got married in February 2017 at the Federal Marriage Registry, Ikoyi.
During the marriage, Jolapamo entrusted Otti with selling two vessels, M.T. MOR Prosperity and M.T. Power, and using the proceeds to purchase a family home. Although she sold the vessels for N810.347 million and acquired the property, the court found that she registered it solely in her name without his consent.
The conflict surfaced after a trip abroad when Otti reportedly told her husband via WhatsApp that she was no longer interested in the marriage and asked him to vacate the house.
The couple had lived apart since March 2019, and their marriage was officially dissolved in April 2025. With this ruling, the court affirmed Jolapamo’s ownership of the property and ordered full financial restitution.
