Meanwhile quite a line here: while Mandalay residents are digging survivors out of the rubble with their bare hands, the military is...shooting at Chinese Red Cross trucks, stopping aid at checkpoints and...setting up stages for Thingyan.

Terrible earthquake in Burma today. People need help. Governments and agencies wishing to help the people of Burma following the earthquake must understand that there are multiple administrations in the country as people resist Burmese military occupation. Assistance should not be limited only to Burmese military occupied areas.
The majority of Burma is no longer under the control of the Burmese military. In each area freed from Burmese military occupation there are ethnic revolutionary administrations, local administrations and local civil society networks which need support to assist their populations.
More than 1,000 people are now known to have died in Myanmar’s earthquake and the search goes on. Meanwhile, the junta is reported to have continued air strikes against people’s forces even in affected areas. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
