Durin's Day is nearly upon us!
When the last moon of autumn rises beside the setting sun, the Dwarves call it Durin’s Day. This year, that alignment happens in our own sky — October 22, 2025.
I’ve broken down exactly how (and where) to see it:

Today, we take a compiled (and extended) look at the dwarven realms of Middle-earth! Get ready to nerd-out for well over an hour!

@nerdoftherings1@Rhino_Records Why do they always need to limit these pressings to such small numbers, do they want folks descending to the level of fistfights? Honestly
Was invited to a Middle Earth D&D session by some friends of friends. When selecting characters I opted for the dwarf (quelle surprise). The host asked me if I had experience with Tolkien’s Dwarves.
@NM3tals Oh I don’t expect anyone to know me—Tolkien fandom is vast and I’m just a beard in the crowd! It’s more that I didn’t know how to answer without sounding like “Well, actually…” and that’s never a good opener 😅
@Halefoot It’s called wind energy curtailment, intentionally reducing the power output of turbines. It’s often done by grid operators to maintain grid stability, often when there’s too much power going towards the grid and low usage.
Seeing extended family over the holiday weekend?! Maybe some dwarvish phrases would come in handy! 😂
