Let's take a moment to talk about this.

There is a full-throated purge effort going on here by the far-right that we have not seen for decades.

They are on a boycott binge and cancel crusade, trying to eliminate the existence of minority communities.

Burning Flags. Banning Books. We have seen this before.

Why are Republicans so against the IRS?

Every single year the US Government loses $1 trillion because of people cheating on their taxes. This money could be saved if Republicans allowed it.

How much is $1 trillion? Well...

- This is enough money to give every homeless person in America over $1.5 million a piece.
- This is 13 times as much money as we have given to Ukraine since the war started.
This is almost 9 times as much money as SNAP costs us every year.
- This is more than half of the entire country's student debt.
- This is 7 times as much as we spend every year on our Veterans.

Why do Republicans get so worried about stopping tax cheats? I can really only think of one reason.

Ken Paxton went on fellow indicted fraudster Steve Bannon's show and bragged about how he stopped 2.5 million Texas voters from receiving mail in ballots. Thus denying their right to vote. The reason he admitted this theft of votes on a YouTube channel? He wants the Texas Senate to keep him in office so he can do it again. Paxton admitted Trump would have lost Texas if he had allowed the Harris County voters to all vote. He also said Beto O'Rourke would be Governor without his election ballot interference. This was voter fraud on a massive level. Republicans are always talking about voter fraud in the 2020 election. Here it is. Right in front of their very eyes. 63 Texas Republicans voted to impeach Ken Paxton Saturday. Now we need the Senate to do the same and rid Texas of Ken Paxton and his many crimes once and for all.

Dept. of Labor reported that more than $1M in fines were paid by a Wisconsin-based food sanitation co. that violated child labor laws across eight states. These violations are on the rise.

People are missing something key about the Ken Paxton story – it gave us a blue print for how to get Republican politicians to give a fuck.

The Texas GOP looked the other way UNTIL he asked them for money. THAT was a step too far.

I mean, look at what they ignored:
– Security fraud charges
– Damning allegations by his own top staff
– Sued for using position to help a wealthy donor
– Allegedly receiving a free home remodel in exchange for favors
– Allegedly arranging to give his donor's mistress a job

Republicans didn't blink an eye.

The dumbass was going to get away with it, but then has the audacity to ask the government to pay for the $3.3M settlement for his misdeeds.

THIS is what gets him impeached.

But don't take my word for it. The memo from the House Committee on General Investigating to made it clear:

“We cannot overemphasize the fact that, but for Paxton’s own request for taxpayer-funded settlement over his wrongful conduct, Paxton would not be facing impeachment in the House,” it stated.

Point taken. For the GOP, corruption is just fine. Just don't make them pay for it.

BREAKING: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is humiliated as students from Florida’s prestigious New College defy him in the best way possible.

After DeSantis conducted a “takeover” of the left-leaning college through his fascist anti-LGBTQ+ policies, the students struck back by putting together an “alternate” gradation ceremony where they can celebrate the graduation of their LGBTQ+ classmates without being punished by DeSantis.

The college’s LGBTQ+ students say that they have been specifically targeted by DeSantis, which is why they made sure their graduation ceremony featured ample rainbow and pink-and-blue flags.

But it gets even better…

The alternate graduation ceremony, which was attended by the vast majority of the college’s students, is just one of many events that the students have organized to protest against DeSantis.

VICE News reports that, “Students at the school have also defied DeSantis by hosting inclusive chess tournaments, dances, garage sales, rallies, and, of course, protests. In February, about 300 students and parents, some dressed in Handmaid’s Tale outfits, protested a board meeting held by the new right-wing administration."

"The fact is that we are incredibly resilient students. We are queer students living in Florida," a student told Vice. “We have survived through this before and we're going to continue surviving through it.”
