Started doing a bit of research on 'how to be a good maths teacher'... It became quite thought-provoking so I thought I would have a go at writing something myself...🙈🙈

Who learnt more…. Me or them!? Another lovely year with yet more crazy, beyond brilliant children 🥰. I’ve learnt so much about what’s absolutely fundamental to me as a teacher. Fingers crossed for the first full year in school next year 🤞🏼.
Today was the final day of this whirlwind NQT year. I stand by what I said at the end of my PGCE year & I’m sure I’ll say it again next year: I’m not sure who’s learnt more, me or the children! A pleasure to have such a lovely class for my first year! Roll on next year! 👩🏽🏫

We have put together a virtual Westonbirt Magical Literacy Day for Year 6s, based around creative and descriptive writing, that will launch tomorrow.
Happy to share the resource; if any Year 6 teachers would like access just send me a DM.

We welcomed a new member of the class on Friday during our social chat... the reality of online learning with 7 & 8 year olds #OnlineLearning#COVID19
For me, as a teacher during this time, all I want is for the children to be creative! Today, we’ve acted out ‘How to wash a woolly mammoth’... we’ve ‘washed’ our rabbits, dogs, cats, ponies AND toy polar bears and sharks!
*No animals were harmed in the making of these films*
‘Once again I’ve had many teachers asking me if they can use my children’s stories to make online videos for their pupils during lockdown. The answer is YES! Please go ahead & use my books in whatever way you want. I am delighted that they will be enjoyed.’ David x
PE with Joe is back Monday 11th January at 9am(UK time) ❤️ Please Retweet and let as many parents and schools as possible know 🙌🏽 The sessions will be live Mon, Wed & Fri’s at 9am on YouTube 📺
"Skills like resilience, courage and adaptability have come to the fore: the ability to keep going when things are hard; when everything around you changes, when suddenly home becomes school and your tablet becomes your classroom"
A child in my class turned to me today to say ‘Miss Thomas, you are literally always laughing...’ 🙊. I’m not really sure what he thought my reaction would be, but I took it as a compliment #LifeInYear3
We’ve had a great day adapting our lessons in aid of #DyslexiaWeek. It gave us a great opportunity to swim, invent mental maths games, take inspiration from @ourplanet creating our own documentaries, build houses and work on our teamwork skills! And we didn’t write a single word!
Joined everyone else and went on a road trip around northern England and Scotland instead of our sunny beach holiday. Went wild swimming in some freezing lakes, cooked bacon by the lochs and didn’t get eaten by mosquitos. 100% would recommend. #COVIDSummer
