I was ready to buy an @eightsleep Pod last night. Then I learned every new customer is forced into a 12-month Autopilot subscription, even if they don’t want it. I don’t want AI sleep coaching, reports, or Autopilot. I want the cooling system. Give customers the choice. Mandatory subscriptions ruin great products.

Arkansas’ small population is the primary factor behind fewer elite recruits. Coaching and development matter, but even with elite coaching the talent pool is smaller. And before anyone brings up Mississippi, they’re the rare outlier. Same population as Arkansas, but a much higher football participation rate, denser talent pockets, and a JUCO system that feeds development. Population is still the ceiling, and Arkansas simply has a smaller base to pull from.

Huhh? He took UCF through a brutal Big 12 transition and still pulled 9 win seasons, reeled in Top-40 recruiting classes, built SEC level infrastructure at a G5 program, and continues to run an offensive system half the country copied. Also the only realistic Arkansas option with an SEC title, multiple Top 10 finishes, and wins over peak Saban. If that résumé doesn’t move you, nothing will.

I’m watching the same reality every Arkansas fan is. No legitimately proven coach is lining up for this job. The names being floated like Goleshe, Eric Morris, Ryan Silverfield are all solid coordinators or G5 guys, but none of them have the horsepower to handle an SEC rebuild in Fayetteville.

Arkansas isn’t a plug-and-play job. It chews up coaches who don’t understand the state, the expectations, and the recruiting landscape.

Malzahn is literally the one available coach who has Arkansas roots (Fort Smith/Greenwood/Springdale), understands the culture, knows how to build explosive offenses, has actually won big games at the Power 5 level and has the personality to survive the pressure here.

Don’t act lost. Arkansas needs someone who fits Arkansas.
