Great P.A.W.s assembly this morning talking about showing up and running the race even when carrying a heavy load. Our relationship task force did. Great job this morning! @claremont_elem@KTLunz
Instructional leadership is not about improving teachers; It is about creating the conditions where teachers can improve themselves. @SteeleThoughts#essentialtruths@ToddWhitaker
Saddle up the horses, Jesus, ‘cause a true blue COWBOY just made his ride up to heaven!!! Introduce him to all the Okies and sign that boy up for the choir! We’re gonna miss you, Toby, but my heart has no doubt that you are standing in the presence of our King right now!!! See you again someday, friend.
I have loved coming back from leave to collaborative data discussions with a foundation of what is best for kids. We have phenomenal AFs and a great staff! ##NoBeariers@claremont_elem

It’s easy to get discouraged by *that kid* and say, “I didn’t sign up for this.” The reality? Yes. We did. We did sign up for this. We signed up to teach KIDS.
🔸*That kid* who is crying every morning when they get to school? We signed up for it.
🔻*That kid* who is in the 5th grade and still can’t read? We signed up for it.
🔸*That kid* who is soiling their pants every day? We signed up for it.
🔻*That kid* who destroyed your classroom? We signed up for it.
🔸*That kid* who cussed you out last week? We signed up for it.
🔻*That kid* who ________________? We signed up for it.
If what we are doing isn’t working, try something different. *That kid* is going to need a different pathway toward success - filled with more patience, more compassion, and a lot more love.
Think about *that kid* in your class right now. Is your heart and mind in the right place? Don’t allow them to become a spectacle in your school, among the kids, teachers, or parents. Don’t allow them to become the topic of conversation at the lunch table. Protect them from that. Love them enough to change their story!
"I had an interactive anchor chart out for parents during open house. I absolutely LOVED reading their responses." —Educator @mssears5
Tag a teacher who might want to learn from students' families this back-to-school season!
“Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them. Is this job tough? You betcha. But it is not impossible. We’re educators. We’re born to make a difference.” https://t.co/2SzmARLRHV
Love this graphic of quick shifts @EliseLovejoy shared! Easy things to do to promote literacy equity and evidence based classrooms! I especially love the ‘read aloud to ensure equity’ suggestion! #SoR#edchat#teachertwitter
Love this! Saw it on LinkedIn, and it speaks to the struggles we all face as we try to improve ourselves, support others, demonstrate confidence, and be the best we can be.

Love people the way they want to be loved, even if you feel there are better ways to love them. When you’ve done that, then you can go ahead and love them the way you want them to be loved. Loving them your way first might lead to resentment and unappreciated effort.
