When the children saw Israeli soldiers in the street, they turned back. The soldiers then shot Ayman in the back. According to his mother, Anwar: "Aisar ran toward us in panic. 'They shot Ayman,' he said. I saw three soldiers surrounding Ayman, shining their flashlights on him. Ayman said to me in a weak voice, 'Mom, the soldiers shot me.'"

Fifty-four minors were killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank in 2025. The report “Unshielded Childhood” tells their stories and documents the circumstances that led to each of their deaths.

Since October 2023 until July 27, 2026, Israel has killed 1,100 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 242 children and teenagers.
