@IvisonJ If Francophones from other provinces are given higher tuition and France students lower tuition - watch out for a charter case. The case will essentially restrict the increase to international students. There does the policy rationale.
@HeartCoherance @rgmac8 @jean_yoon @StephTaylorCP @OttawaPolice Please apply the Canadian law and not your own law. Here is a work sheet. https://t.co/459ZIgtFXM
@Gray_Mackenzie Ironic. The bill of rights only applies federally, not provincially. Also it’s subject to the Charter, especially Section 1 and the “Oakes test.” In this case 1987 “street legal” would be more apropos then 2022 illegal street.
Some convoy organizers have been charged with counselling the offence of mischief. Mischief sounds like something a naughty toddler does but it can actually be a serious offence punishable by up to 10 years in jail. 1/4
@WakeHedge@OttawaPolice It’s a criminal charge. https://t.co/wJf9CB6MPO. She is looking at 10 years sentence I’m predicting 8 years in prison - released in 5. Let me know in 2028!
@ctvottawa @grahamctv Wait. You are telling me Watson puts his political interests above that of the community ? We’ve seen this for years #sosvanier! Welcome to the #Watsonvictim club. #Ottawa#cityott
@DonewellRichard please read our Constitution Act 1982. In fact canada has more freedoms than americans. Here is a primer on section 1. https://t.co/459ZIgLgPk
@MwilsonTO84@RobinMacNab What love here are almost 7000 opinions and 0 facts. In court, the lawyers can make a judicial application to use seized fund for legal fees.
@rgmac8 @jean_yoon @StephTaylorCP @OttawaPolice Appreciate the link. I read it. Here is the problem it fails to address the Oakes test section 1 analysis. Despite a reverse onus on the Crown, filing without any consideration of section 1 is mere public posturing for legal failure. https://t.co/SeKOkv3OCp
@rgmac8 @jean_yoon @StephTaylorCP @OttawaPolice The justice centre for constitutional freedoms - his lawyers- have yet to persuade a court of a charter violation regarding COVID. I read the application. It is absent of a section 1 legal analysis. Precedent cases maintain section 1 https://t.co/NG1TbCnw1v
@rgmac8 @jean_yoon @StephTaylorCP @OttawaPolice First he was not a signatory or author of the charter or constitution. Second, he is not a lawyer - no licence to interpret. Third, his argument is where ? Nothing actually filed. If it was, it would be on public record. Forth, there is ample legal precedent against his claim.
@HeartCoherance @rgmac8 @jean_yoon @StephTaylorCP @OttawaPolice So if you want to learn - read the actual case law or papers - don’t make shit up. The Nuremberg code is not applicable to the facts. No lawyer would support that premise. Start reading actual legal analysis - https://t.co/87X9Y2ysz7
