Exciting news! My new paper published in Protein Science journal reveals the presence of lipids in α-synuclein but not in amyloid β1–42 fibrils in the brains of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's patients. This discovery sheds new light on the underlying mechanisms of these diseases.
Good news! Our latest paper in BBA - Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids reveals that the protein-to-lipid ratio uniquely affects the rate of lysozyme aggregation but does not significantly alter the toxicity of mature protein aggregates.
Exciting to see Tianyi's research on the secondary structure & toxicity of alpha-synuclein oligomers & fibrils grown in the presence of Phosphatidylcholine & Phosphatidylserine. His work sheds light on potential mechanisms underlying Parkinson's disease. Well done, Tianyi!
Congratulations to Tianyi for earning 1st place in the Oral Presentation category at the Annual Student Research Symposium in Galveston, TX! A well-deserved recognition for his hard work and dedication to his research. #studentresearch#Galveston#congratulations
Exciting News! An interview with AgriLife about our paper "Lipids uniquely alter the secondary structure and toxicity of amyloid beta 1-42 aggregates" is now available online! Check it out for insights on groundbreaking research on amyloid beta and implications for Alzheimer's.
Toxicology seminars Fall 2022 series begins on Monday September 12 with a presentation from our newest member, Dr. Dmitry Kurouski @KurouskiLab! Join us in 107B VENI @tamuvetmed
Many congrats to Samantha @samh9922 on the acceptance of her super cool work on Forensics to Talanta! "Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy enables highly accurate identification of different brands, types and colors of hair dyes"https://t.co/X3lVFvsCf9
Outstanding team-work. Our new collaboration with the Gadhave group at Texas A&M Research and Extension in Amarillo, TX. @krgadhave https://t.co/uhmgO8cG4n
A big thanks to Isaac Juarez and Axell Rodriguez for presenting at the grand opening of the Automated Precision Phenotyping Greenhouse. They shared their research on early detection of stressors in corn crops, work that was possible thanks to the facility! @AgriLife
Congratulations to @KZhelyazko on the publication of his paper in @ACSChemNeurosci https://t.co/qS4F20pAJv. The paper highlight the complex nature of aggregation of amyloid beta, a peptide that is linked to Alzheimer's disease.
Check out our latest research article in @NanoLetters: https://t.co/82zdB8hkvj. This study shows how light can be used to alter the yield of plasmon-driven reactions on gold and gold-palladium nanoplates. Congratulations Zhandong, on your outstanding work!!
Our article, "Charge of Phospholipids Determines the Rate of Lysozyme Aggregation but Not the Structure and Toxicity of Amyloid Aggregates" was recently published in Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters. Congrats @KZhelyazko, on your interesting finding! https://t.co/LbbbLks8AN
Many congrats to Nico on the acceptance of his paper to Molecules. This is a great work that was done in collaboration with Mariposa folks. Thanks Mariposa for their financial support!
