You're right to some extent.

I know traders who use candlestick patterns and are profitable with them. You can't just discard a strategy because it doesn't work for you.

Knowing a strategy is one thing, but implementation matters a lot.

If you're not profitable with the strategy, it might be due to a lack of understanding.
Dismissing it as ineffective is avoiding responsibility.

That’s how I went to change my phone battery yesterday at this quack engineer’s shop. It didn’t even occur to me to check if he tampered with any part of the phone. Only for me to open my front camera this morning and realized it had been tampered with.
