Watched the Ramayana trailer.

Having grown up watching Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, it's only natural to judge every adaptation against that benchmark. That version was truly a once-in-a-lifetime masterpiece, so expecting anyone to recreate the same magic isn't realistic.

That said, this trailer looks promising.

I still feel Sita should have been played by someone else. On the other hand, some scenes are visually impressive, and Ravan's character appears to have been portrayed really well by Yash. Dashrath also looks good.

Now I'll wait for the songs, because the music is the soul of Ramayana.

The Airavat scene is good. Some ignorant may find it funny (thinking it's a flying elephant), but that doesn't really matter.

The good thing is that, unlike many recent adaptations, there doesn't seem to be any distortion of the original story or an attempt to turn it into a joke, at least not so far.
