@ReviewsPossum The classics, and all greats really, break the rules of convention. I'm of the opinion it's because the rules are broken in a way we love that they work.
@Sir_Dammed@ahegao_horror Because shitty art is still art. And when you put effort into expression that's a far cry more impressive than duct taping a banana to a wall.
I'm not arguing against free feminine hygiene products in public spaces. I will say, "duh." This statement is pretending "everybody poops" and "women bleed at puberty" are the exact same story. One actually is universal. The other is half the ADULT population.
@JessePeltan The biggest reason this kind of argument exists is implementation. We COULD cover government buildings with solar panels. Instead we cover viable farmland. We could do efficient, instead we do stupid. Then everyone argues with each other.
@AntiCommieBecca While you're asking, you might also ask what the commonalities actually are. Is it that highly ambitious men crave evil things? Is it the environment they engage in once wealthy? Where does the actual corruption come in? All worth asking, but don't just reduce it to wealth.
@Hitchslap1 That would be interesting and funny. We'd find some of the people who get called smart aren't high IQ and some people called morons are quiet geniuses.
I am tired of "mental illness."
I am sick of people claiming that they cannot do normal things required of normal people in life because they have "anxiety" or "depression" or "ADHD."
This is bullshit.
If you lived in any other time in history (or in many other places in the world), you would have no choice but to get on with it.
Claiming you can't do basic things like buy groceries, go to work, cook, or go outside and engage with human beings or the world because of "anxiety" or "depression" only makes your problems worse, and is also not true! Of course you can do these things! You just don't want to. And maybe it's hard. And I understand that these things can feel hard when you're struggling, but the question is: do you want to get better? Do you want your life to improve?
If so, you have to get on with it! You have to do things you don't want to do like go outside and see people and go to work and go to the gym and walk your dog and get off the couch.
I swear to god we were better off when all these labels for various normal humans and experiences didn't exist.
@eep2378 @berengue_r @MeghanEMurphy What do you say to people who've suffered from severe depression and this was exactly how they overcame it?
"You don't understand?"
@Michael_Druggan@Degen_CPA Yes. I know several gifted people who feel like they'd be violating their core values if they do what they know would make them successful.
Refusal to believe does not negate a thing. People being unpredictable and confusing to someone making logical decisions isn't that hard to grasp. We all have our own flaws, and that includes those of high IQ.
i refuse to believe people with high IQs struggle to fit in with society.
You’re essentially playing a game, and you’re trying to say the smartest people playing the game, can’t figure out how to play it?
It makes no sense, likely comes from people who think they’re smarter than they are and are struggling.
