Dr. Bawumia proposed increasing the validity period of driver’s licenses. Passport validity was also extended to 10 years. Yet somehow, the NIA is now proposing to reduce the validity period of the Ghana Card. It makes no sense. Instead of reviewing the entire PPP arrangement to ensure value for money, they keep coming up with ways to extract more money from citizens, businesses and government agencies for the benefit of the private partner 🤦🏿‍♂️

- The Ahafo mine which is 90% owned by Newmont, and 10% owned by the Government of Ghana, produced 798,000 ounces in 2024.
- Ahafo is Newmont’s only operation in Africa.
- The mine reached commercial production in 2006 and operates both surface and underground mines.

#18: TARKWA
- The Tarkwa mine which is 90% owned by Gold Fields and 10% owned by the Government of Ghana, produced 537,200 gold ounces in 2024.
- Tarkwa is one of two mines previously operated by Gold Fields in Ghana.
- Last month, the Government of Ghana rejected Gold Field’s application to extend the lease for its second mine, the Damang mine.

According to the SRA;

- While many firms are already using AI to support and deliver a range of back-office and public-facing services, https://t.co/5zDnPo5zrR Ltd is the first purely AI-based firm authorised to provide regulated legal services in England and Wales.

- https://t.co/5zDnPo5zrR offers small and medium sized businesses, as well as law and other firms, the use of an AI-powered litigation assistant to help them recover unpaid debts, guiding them through the small claims court process up to trial.

- AI-driven legal services could deliver better, quicker and more affordable legal services. There are, however, potential risks to the public, and as a result, there will be appropriate checks in place to make sure that consumer protections are not diluted.

- Garfield is not autonomous and will only take a step where the client has approved it, and furthermore there are supervision and monitoring processes in place. This includes greater oversight of claims in the initial launch phase, so that issues or risks can be identified.
