*Kwarapoly Rector Congratulates New Chief Imam of Ilorin*
The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani on his appointment as the Chief Imam of Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
In a congratulatory message, the Rector disclosed that the entire Polytechnic Muslim community is proud of this well-deserved recognition and prays that Allah grants him wisdom and strength in his new role.
He added that the appointment is a great honour for the entire Ilorin Emirate, emphasizing his belief that Sheikh Imam Fulani will lead with fairness and piety.
According to Engr. Abdul, Sheikh Imam's dedication to Islamic teachings and community service makes him a worthy choice for this important position, and the entire Polytechnic Muslim community is confident that his leadership will bring spiritual growth and unity to the Muslim ummah in Ilorin.
The Rector prayed that the reign of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani as Chief Imam be blessed, peaceful, and impactful.
He also prayed that Almighty Allah continues to protect the Ilorin Emirate under the leadership of the Emir, and that the Almighty blesses the Emir with long life, sound health, and divine wisdom.
*Kwarapoly Rector Receives Royal Blessing from Emir of Ilorin*
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, today gave his royal blessing to the Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, describing him as a good ambassador of the Ilorin Emirate.
The Emir stated this when the Rector accompanied by the Ag. National President, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alh. Abdulrauf Babatunde Issa and the executives of the Balogun Gambari Ward Development Association visited the Emir’s palace today to show appreciation to the royal father following the Rector’s recent reinstatement by the State Government.
The Emir warmly welcomed the Rector and his delegation, describing Engr. Abdul as a great ambassador of the Emirate. The monarch expressed confidence in the Rector's integrity, stressing that he believes the Rector will be vindicated. He expressed pride in the Rector’s conduct in the discharge of his official assignments, noting that Engr. Abdul has consistently demonstrated the ethical and moral values his family is known for.
He commended the Rector for representing the entire Emirate well, noting that being free from any indictment by the committee set up by the State Government has made him very proud, emphasizing that Ilorin indigenes in positions of authority have always made the Emirate proud.
The Emir also praised the progress the institution has made under Engr. Abdul’s leadership and assured the Rector of his continued backing and prayed for his success in office. He expressed his full support for the Rector’s work.
The royal father also expressed appreciation to Kwara State Governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for reinstating Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, describing the Governor’s decision as a demonstration of commitment to justice, fairness, and the preservation of institutional integrity at the Polytechnic.
He added that the reinstatement had restored confidence among indigenes of the Emirate and stakeholders of the institution.
He also commended other principal officers of the Polytechnic for accompanying the Rector and for standing by him during the period of challenge.
Earlier, the Ag. National President, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alh. Abdulrauf Babatunde Issa thanked the Emir for his fatherly role to the people of Ilorin. He acknowledged the Emir’s help during the recent unfortunate incident at the Polytechnic and expressed gratitude for his guidance throughout the difficult period.
The visit concluded with a prayer led by Mall. Alaro for the long life of the emir and for the success of Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed in office.
Kwarapoly Rector Pays Condolence Visit to 1st Makama of Ilorin Over Father’s Demise
The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, today paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the residence of the 1st Makama of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Oniye, to commiserate with him and the entire family following the passing of his beloved father, Imam Salahudeen Saadudeen Oniye.
The visit was marked by a spirit of shared grief and respect as the Rector sought to offer his personal support during this difficult period of mourning for the royal household.
Addressing the 1st Makama, the Rector expressed his deep sympathies, noting that the late patriarch lived a life of immense impact and integrity, leaving behind a lasting legacy which will serve as a guiding light for the younger generation.
He prayed that the Almighty grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and provides the family with the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Speaking earlier, the 1st Makama of Ilorin expressed profound gratitude to Engr. Abdul for taking time out of his busy schedule to identify with the family. He noted that the visit provided great comfort to the household, emphasizing that the gesture is a testament to the strong bond and mutual respect that exists between the Polytechnic leadership and the Ilorin Emirate.
The visit concluded with special prayers offered for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for the Rector’s success in office.
Kwarapoly Rector Mourns Late KWASU Governing Council Chairman
The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed has described the passing of the Chairman Governing Council, Kwara State University, Malete, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, OON, as a monumental loss that extends far beyond the university community.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Halimat Garba, the Rector disclosed that the deceased was a visionary leader whose impact touched every facet of the society, emphasizing the late chairman’s selfless dedication to the common good.
Engr. Abdul, who extended deep condolences to the bereaved family, urged them to find strength in the legacy of service and integrity left behind. He acknowledged the painful void the chairman’s departure will create within the university community, where his leadership steered the institution toward growth and ethical excellence.
The Rector also noted that late Ambali’s contributions to the University of Ilorin, where he once served as Vice Chancellor, remain an enduring benchmark of academic and administrative excellence.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the family, KWASU, UNILORIN, and the entire Ilorin Emirate the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
*IEDPU Visits Kwarapoly Rector, Urges Forgiveness Over Vendetta*
The Executives of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) today paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Kwara State Polytechnic to rejoice with the Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, following his reinstatement by the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, after a four-month suspension.
The delegation, led by the Ag. National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulrauf Babatunde Issa, said the visit was aimed at thanking Almighty Allah for the successful return of one of the illustrious sons of the Emirate to office after the challenging period.
He noted that the union shared in the joy of the Rector, his family, and the entire Polytechnic community over the development, urging the Rector to remain steadfast, focused, and committed to the discharge of his responsibilities.
The Ag. National President further advised Engr. Abdul to maintain a forgiving spirit and avoid any form of revenge against individuals who may have played roles during the period of his suspension, noting that true leadership is demonstrated through patience, humility, and the ability to rise above challenges.
The delegation offered prayers for greater elevation, wisdom, good health, and a successful tenure for the Rector, expressing confidence in his ability to continue contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Kwara State Polytechnic.
Responding, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the IEDPU for the visit and show of solidarity. He thanked Almighty Allah for preserving his life throughout the trying period, describing the experience as a test of faith, patience, and perseverance.
Engr. Abdul acknowledged the numerous challenges encountered during the four-month suspension but noted that divine grace and support from well-wishers sustained him.

He promised that his administration would always remain steadfast in its commitment to supporting the state government's goals and initiatives.
Rector Commends Governor Abdulrahman for Justice, Fairness as IEDPU, Gambari Group Celebrate Reinstatement
The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed has described Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a compassionate and visionary leader whose decisions are always focused on the best interests of the State and its people.
The Rector stated this today during a courtesy visit by the executives of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) and members of the Gambari Development Association.
Engr. Abdul, who thanked Governor Abdulrahman for reinstating him, disclosed that the Governor’s decision reflects not only a belief in his capabilities but also a deep commitment to the values of integrity, fair governance, and justice.
He added that he is aware of the immense responsibilities that comes with his reinstatement, and promised to approach his duties with renewed vigor and dedication.
The Rector assured the delegation that he remains dedicated to the advancement of Kwara State Polytechnic, stressing that his administration will continue to focus on academic excellence, staff and students’ welfare, and infrastructural development.
The delegation, led by Alhaji Abdulrauf Babatunde Issa and Engr. Awodi Ayodele respectively, was at the Polytechnic to celebrate Engr. Abdul's reinstatement. They showed their solidarity and support for his continued leadership.
The visit ended with special prayers for the success of the Rector’s administration, the continued progress of the Polytechnic, and sustained peace and development in the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State.
*KwaraPoly: Management Receives RANAO Executives, Discusses Welfare of Outsourced Security Guards*
The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic today received the executives of the Retired Army, Navy and Air Force Officers Association of Nigeria (RANAO) on a courtesy visit to discuss the welfare of RANAO outsourced security guards serving within the institution.
Speaking during the visit, RANAO Chairman, Group Captain Adebayo, said the aim of the visit was to address issues affecting the welfare and wellbeing of the guards responsible for securing the Polytechnic community.
According to him, the current salary structure for the security personnel is no longer adequate given prevailing economic realities. He noted that the amount being paid can hardly cover transportation expenses, let alone cater for the feeding and welfare of their families.
Adebayo appealed to the Management to consider an upward review of the guards’ salaries to motivate them for improved service delivery and effective security operations within the institution.
Responding on behalf of the Management, the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) F. O. Awolola, appreciated the delegation for the visit and for their commitment to the security and stability of the institution.
She explained that though the institution largely depends on school fees paid by students for its operations, the Management would carefully consider the request after necessary consultations and communicate its decision in due course.
Awolola also appealed to the association to continue providing adequate security for the Polytechnic community while discussions on the request are being concluded.
KwaraPoly Inaugurates Disciplinary Committees, Urges Integrity and Fairness
The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic has officially inaugurated the Staff and Students Disciplinary Committees of the institution, charging members to uphold integrity, fairness, and strict adherence to the rules and regulations guiding the Polytechnic.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) F.O. Awolola urged members of the committees not to betray the trust and confidence reposed in them.
She emphasized the importance of discipline in sustaining peace, orderliness, and academic excellence within the institution, stressing that committee members must discharge their responsibilities with honesty, transparency, and in line with the extant rules and regulations governing the Polytechnic.
The Ag. Rector further advised the members to avoid bias and personal interests while carrying out their assignments, noting that the credibility of the institution depends largely on fairness and accountability in handling disciplinary matters.
Speaking on behalf of the committees, the Chairman of the Staff Disciplinary Committee, Mr. Olowokere Abdulrasaq and the Chairman of the Students Disciplinary Committee, Mr. Abidoye Gabriel expressed appreciation to the Management for the confidence reposed in them.
They assured the Management that members of both committees would discharge their duties diligently and in accordance with the terms and conditions guiding their appointments.
They also pledged to uphold the good image of the Polytechnic and ensure that their actions would not bring the institution into disrepute.

*CPO Conducts Unscheduled Visit to Mini Campus, Reviews Library Project Progress*
The Committee of Principal Officers of the Polytechnic today conducted an unscheduled inspection of ongoing projects at the institution's mini campus.
The primary focus of the visit was to assess the progress of the new librarian's office at the Polytechnic mini campus, a project funded through the institution's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The team, led by the Ag. Rector, Dr. Felicia Olabisi Awolola, expressed satisfaction with the level of work accomplished thus far. She commended the efforts of the construction team and urged the Director of Works to expedite the project's final phase, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the timely delivery of furniture to the completed structure.
The new librarian's office at the mini campus includes essential amenities such as the construction of two dedicated toilet facilities, one for the librarian and another for his staff, enhancing the functionality and comfort of the new workspace.
In a related development, the visiting team also inspected the progress of furniture procurement for the campus Library. The furniture is being sourced through sponsorship from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), which aims to enhance the learning environment within the library.
Kwarapoly Seeks Enhanced Security Partnership with Civil Defence Corps
In a move to bolster campus security and foster inter-agency collaboration, the Principal Officers of Kwara State Polytechnic today paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command.
The team, led by the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Olabisi Awolola expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the consistent hand of friendship extended to the Polytechnic by the Command.
Describing the visit as a friendly gesture to security agencies, Awolola noted that the Civil Defence Corps was the first point of call, recognizing it as a decent organisation.
She emphasised the institution's unwavering commitment to peace, describing it as paramount for any environment seeking development.
The Ag. Rector therefore called for continuous support from the command in order to ensure a serene learning environment in the Polytechnic.
Responding, the State Commander, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga assured the Polytechnic of the Corps' readiness to support and collaborate with the institution in maintaining the existing peace on campus.
To actualize this, he immediately directed some of his officers to work closely with the Polytechnic’s Chief Security Officer to ensure the safety of lives and property across the entire Polytechnic community.
The meeting underscores a proactive step towards strengthening security frameworks and promoting a safer, more conducive academic environment through sustained synergy between educational institutions and security agencies.
Ag. Rector Prioritises Unity, Staff Welfare for Polytechnic’s Growth
In her first address to the general staff since assuming office, the Ag. Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Olabisi Awolola has declared that sustainable growth and development can only be achieved through peace and unity among staff members.
Speaking at the Polytechnic Assembly held today at the institution’s auditorium, Dr. Awolola, outlined her vision for an inclusive, transparent, and staff-focused administration.
She promised to lead with humility and carry every staff member along, regardless of religious or ethnic background, emphasising that staff welfare would be a top priority for her Management team.
The Ag. Rector also announced an open-door policy and a willingness to accept constructive criticism.
Dr. Awolola disclosed that to address existing grievances and foster harmony, a 9-man ad-hoc committee tasked with the responsibility of receiving and reviewing staff complaints has been constituted by the Principal Officers. She added that the committee is expected to make recommendations to Management after reviewing all complaints.
On staff welfare, the Ag. Rector encouraged staff to apply for TETFund-sponsored conferences. She specifically directed the Director, Academic Planning Division to give priority to staff who have not previously benefited from such opportunities.
Dr. Awolola also called for a high standard of professionalism, urging staff to be dedicated, diligent, honest, committed, and punctual. She warned against any conduct capable of tarnishing the Polytechnic’s reputation.
Acknowledging lack of effective communication channels as contributory factors to misunderstandings within the system, the Ag. Rector pledged to ensure timely dissemination of information regarding all Polytechnic activities. She added that all Management decisions would be formally communicated to the Polytechnic community through the Information Division.
The Ag. Rector also appreciated the entire staff, particularly the teaching staff, for their roles in the successful conduct of the just-concluded first-semester examinations. She solicited the continued support and cooperation of all staff as she pilots the affairs of the institution.

*Kwarapoly Concludes First Semester Examinations Peacefully, Management Commends Staff*
The Kwara State Polytechnic has successfully wrapped up its first semester examinations, marking the end of the academic term on a smooth and orderly note.
The examinations, which proceeded without any disruptions or incidents, were concluded as scheduled across all departments.
The Polytechnic Management expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examinations and extended special appreciation to the entire Polytechnic community for their cooperation and discipline.
Speaking with the information crew, the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Olabisi Awolola extended special commendation to the team of invigilators, examination officers, and Chief Lecturers whose diligence, vigilance, and dedication were credited for ensuring the process was hitch-free, fair, and concluded peacefully.
The Ag. Rector also lauded the students for conducting themselves in an orderly manner and strictly following the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of examinations.
Staff who spoke to the Polytechnic information crew also described the peaceful examination period as a positive step in upholding the academic standards and reputation of the Polytechnic.
