@jasonmlarsen All the comments on both sides are interesting. Having worked with students on all sides of the economic spectrum, simply saying you shouldn’t go to x school if you can’t afford it, seems too simplistic for nuance of disparity of wealth.
In a transactional industry, practicing honesty is one of the most effective ways to distinguish yourself. It might not always feel lucrative in the moment, but authenticity pays dividends in ways you might not think.

Thank you, President Jimmy Carter and First Lady, Rosalynn. We are grateful for your posture of kindness, humility, and service. We are moved and invigorated by your example.
When you hearing the beeping of a dead battery in the smoke detector but can’t quite figure out which one, don’t have any spares and are too tired to go get new ones. Hope I don’t burn the house down. Yikes

Did I bring a smile to someone's face?
Did I say words of healing?
Did I let go of my anger & resentment?
Did I forgive?
Did I love?
These are the real questions.
