The tragic passing of Edith Katende, wife of Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, is a painful reminder: Uganda must legislate compassionate leave for inmates (on remand or convicted) to bury their loved ones.
Humanity demands it. Many advanced jurisdictions already grant escorted temporary release for funerals. Let our jurisprudence grow with compassion. 🇺🇬❤️

They have emotions, like anybody else. They can wake up in a good or bad mood. They have passions, likes, and dislikes.

We need to enjoy what brings us happiness, no matter how highly positioned we may be.
