"The Male Emotional Suppression Cycle" in a 30 second gif. Just the pared down brutal facts. @GoodMenProject

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

The most consistent way men are insulted is by calling into question their manhood. As if I measure my worth by how macho others think I am.

@uniuniman53 #3 It distracts us from the real problem. In-group divisions means less attention toward dismantling systems. #PHLWPC17

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

@uniuniman53 #2 It divides white ppl working for justice. If I think I'm better than others, I am less willing to work with them. #PHLWPC17

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

@uniuniman53 great question! #1 It lets me off the hook. I still have LOTS of work to do. #PHLWPC17

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

@jillmarette99 yes, I couldn't agree more! @JamesWLoewen there are other ways to have the same impact without using the word

[Jill Poklemba @jillmarette99]

@JamesWLoewen #POC can decide how/when/where 2 address racist trauma (see @eji_org). Our job: NOT 2 say N-word! cc: @aerielashlee @swirlina

Lesson from Day 2 of #PHLWPC17 - Thinking I'm better or more advanced than other white people only serves to reinforce white supremacy.

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

@Billysmithjr33 white privilege is looking at rape & making conclusions about race w/o considering poverty, patriarchy, or toxic masculinity

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

@mikelbtko agree! This person has experienced some pain in life to spit such vile hatred. My heart hurts for shared our humanity.

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

Did I just hear a white man use the N-word? Historical context or not, that's not okay. #PHLWPC17 @JamesWLoewen #WPCsowhite

[Kyle C. Ashlee @KyleCAshlee]

Appreciate @JamesWLoewen sharing truth, and folks of color have been saying this for a long time. #PHLWPC17 #WPCsowhite

Lesson from day 1 at #PHLWPC17 - I can't let the bind of patriarchy and white supremacy stop me from holding myself and others accountable.
