It’s never been easier to make something. It’s never been harder to break through.
So, we’re trying something different.
Introducing Black Market Presents—spotlighting comic creators whose work and voices we believe in.
If you’ve got a finished comic, we’re taking a look!
This Wednesday, @radiantblk issue 42 releases. @KyleDHiggins was kind enough to let me read this early and oh boy, this is one you don’t want to miss. Not only does it serve as a great conclusion to the Horizon arc, it also serves as an exciting tease for what’s to come.
IN STORES TODAY! As Aurie fights to survive a deadly gauntlet of ROGUE SUN’s most dangerous enemies, Dylan is forced to confront the consequences of his choices—and the return of a familiar face from his past.

The hardcover of IMMORTAL LEGEND BATMAN is out now!
Find out what the hype was about — or relive the saga — as our reimagining of Batman confronts his demons, in the shadows of stars!
By me, @KyleDHiggins, @Erica_Durso, @igormontiart, @Danmora_c, @TBonvillain and Becca Carey!
@BenParkerReilly As for the cost question, it depends on the store's discounts from the distributor. But they are usually getting books at about 45%-58% off MSRP.
Many shops stop carrying a book after the first arc or two, save for the copies they order for their subscribers. At issue 42, it's really hard to get a store to carry a title like Radiant Black beyond what their customers preorder. It's unfortunate, but I'm constantly trying
@KyleDHiggins@ImageComics Multi-part thread Q&A:
1) hlHuge fan of Radiant Black. Startedat it's debut and have not put it down since. As a former (or failed) writer, the story strongly resonated with me.
2) My LCS carries fewer copies as it seems readers are turning to trades. With fewer FOC requests...
@BenParkerReilly A lot of stores view comics on the shelf past a few days as dead stock. So, they're trying to thread the world's tiniest needle every month to avoid this. But when a book is not on the shelf, it's very hard for readers to find it or for it to find an audience.
@OmegaX80@ImageComics This is why I am posting about it. It's an age old problem. And for as many trade paperback readers as there are, there are many readers who prefer monthly issues. But if their store doesn't order the comic... they have no copy to buy.
@BenParkerReilly@SeanIzaakse@ImageComics Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but I understand your position. Trust me, if I could get stores to order more copies beyond what their subscribers pull, I would. I'm constantly trying.
@BenParkerReilly@SeanIzaakse@ImageComics Hey, I agree. But unfortunately, most stores don't order a book-- especially past a first story arc or two-- unless they have subscribers.
@KyleDHiggins@BlackMarketNAR@ImageComics Ty for sharing been trying better once I see solicitations to ask my comics shop to add to my pull. Need to catch up on my #radiantblack reading, 1 of my fav moments from #sdcc last yr was coming into your panel to grab seats for the next 1, but became new fan of this universe.
@pacificrimfan1@ImageComics If you already know this information, then that's great. Just trying to get it out there for those who don't. Hope you have a nice day.
The fact this is true and has been for a long time is one of the most horridly dystopian things about comics. It’s not enough to put books on shelves and buy them, creators’ entire livelihoods and fulfilment are down to superfans who commit months in advance.
