Big selling point of the Philon pick for me is that he came out of last year's combine with feedback from teams on what he needed to improve on & made huge leaps in every area (shot, rim, playmaking)
Being a hard worker is good, being a thoughtful + detailed worker is better
Philon made a huge (20%) jump at the rim this year, think you see how his plan to neutralize defenders improved with gathers and ball fakes
Once he gets someone to move or hesitate with a hesi or shot/pass fake, he's really good at rolling immediately into the scoring move
@realinkybot It's a genuinely crazy leap because he shot 45% at the rim on half-court shots as a freshman, went from a pretty huge concern to something he excelled at.
Still got to keep an eye on it because of the size concerns, but the skill development has been awesome
Mike Gansey on Labaron Philon: "Dynamic. Can score. Can pass. I think he was the only player in Division 1 to average 22, 5 assists and shoot over 50% from the field.
"He's the focal point of their offense. I think he's going to fit Philly. He's not afraid.:"

BREAKING: Micah Nori has agreed to become the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell @TheAthletic. Nori was lead assistant of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the past five years. Nori, 52, signed a one-year deal with team options for each of the next two seasons.
Just in: Minnesota is sending Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick in the NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade that sends Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls, sources tell ESPN. The Timberwolves will acquire Brooklyn’s No. 33 pick for Randle and No. 28.
@DragonflyJonez My experience is it’s an “only if it’s egregious” call, but a lot of pickup is small side/short field which tends to make it irrelevant anyway
Programming note: going to be on Sports Sunday @FOX29philly around 10:45 tonight talking Sixers, NBA Draft, and what to expect from Mike Gansey as he gets rolling in Philly. Be a friend and tune in
