@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr Its called providing evidence. Can you name a rerelease that has failed because of piracy? That seems pretty much impossible to verify to me.
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr I have more nuance on this subject than you. I think its okay sometimes and not okay other times. Literally the opposite of black and white thinking. Meanwhile you’ve been talking about this like its the same as mugging someone on the street
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr It was relevant to your first comment about corporations and regular people having an adversarial relationship, because thats true in all capitalist countries. Also, I was just saying I didnt understand what you were saying because of the literal language barrier so maybe chill?
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr Consumer rights take priority over corporate rights.
Its very simple: pirating or modding old games harms literally nobody, withholding compensation for labor does harm people. So I am against one and not against the other. I dont decide my morality based on existing laws
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr What rights of theirs are being violated? The right to not allow people to play their old games? Yeah I don’t respect that right. I don’t care about giving corporations the freedom to fuck us over. I think your point about overtime is getting lost in translation though.
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr You’re literally just doing the “its MY IP to sit on and do nothing with!” Argument.
I don’t care, fuck em. If they want people to pay them for their old games they should port them and rerelease them, otherwise its no different than buying a used copy for a ridiculous price
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr Yeah I think there’s an obvious difference between pirating a game on launch where its going to make the most amount of sales of its lifetime and potentially affect the actual developers and modding a game that came out in 2007.
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr That data is about newly released games, and how if they are cracked in the first week they loose 20% of revenue that they would have expected otherwise, which drops to 5% after a few weeks. I agree that pirating brand new games is shitty. But thats not what we’re discussing.
@naruasd@jon_terried I don’t care. Nobody is harmed by people playing tekken 6 online. This is just sucking up to corporations that don’t give a fuck about anything but the bottom line
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr Literally nonsensical reply. Its crazy how upset you are about people downloading roms and playing tekken 6 with netcode lol
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr People have been pirating old pokemon games for almost two decades, yet when Nintendo releases Firered and Leafgreen on the switch it still sold 4 million copies. So your argument falls completely flat
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr I think access to games even after corporations stop selling them is important for everyone, not just me. And I really don’t give a fuck about a corporations reasons for not selling it anymore no, they’ll be fine
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr Except I’ve been making actual arguments and you’ve just been crashing out and calling me poor. We determine who’s right by who makes the most logical arguments.
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr Most people don’t make profits off mods and rom download sites though. People literally just want to be able to play the games.
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr You dumbass, nobody has the ability to pay for tekken 6 whether they have dicksucking money or not
The fact you think its stealing to give fucking netcode to an old games is just not normal in the rest of the world Im sorry
@Guido_Mista@OBT9uW0HJxjTkzC@maneater_dgr So we should fix corporations by not criticizing them and sucking their dicks instead? Great plan. Have fun working 30 unpaid hours this month
