We all seek to acquire status.

We want to be seen as spiritual, be smarter than others, or become famous. Or we want to be a professional athlete, a good chess player, or a great salsa dancer.

We have a strong need to find our place in society. And that’s fine.

Anything of real value is immaterial.

Love, gratitude, friendships, freedom, meaning, happiness, integrity, wisdom.

They are all intangible.

Walk

When you can’t find a solution to your problems, go for a walk.

When you feel sad or angry, walk.

When you feel uninspired, walk.

When you feel overwhelmed, stop and go for a walk.

When you’re out of shape and can’t do any workout or sports, simply go for a walk.

Creating something new is hard.

Be curious. Set an intention to be creative. A lot of things have already been said, often centuries ago.

But don’t despair in your ability bring something unique and original into this world. You might not succeed, but you can still try.

Because “everything has been said before” doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to say something new or something similar in our own unique way.

Our unique way to explain a concept or our unique life experiences may touch someone else in ways it never had before.

We can never know.

Learning for its own sake is one of the greatest joys in life.

We’ll never understand much about the world, but we can rejoice in learning something new each day.

Most of the results we attain in life are the results of what we do consistently—i..e habits.

But habits are far more ubiquitous than people think.

For instance, good thinking, gratitude, decisiveness, focus, or discipline are habits that can be cultivated.

“Networking” is the art of pretending to care about other people so that we can use them later to reach our goals.

Instead of networking, why not become friends with people whose values and goals align with ours and see what unfold from those relationships?

Let's not feel inadequate because we haven't yet achieved our goals. Instead, let's take great pleasure in the wonderful process of improving ourselves. And let's appreciate every tiny win along the way. Life is about learning, not "winning".

People who couldn't find gold sell you shovels.

That goes for:

Book marketers who couldn't make money from book sales.

Business coach who couldn't build their business.

Unprofitable traders (who now sell courses).

Learn from people who've achieved the results you want.

In life, there is no "pause" button.

You can’t keep everything as is in the rare moments when you feel fulfilled and at peace.

That’s unfortunate—but that’s how life is.

We reject our rights to be imperfect, to have shadows, to make mistakes.

In doing so, we enslave ourselves in a world of constant suffering where our expectations are crushed over and over—as they are bound to be.

But it is to be expected.

We're merely human after all.

We are what we focus on.

We see what we focus on.

If we aren’t making progress toward the life we desire, that’s usually because our focus is not where it needs to be.

What stands between us and happiness (in a nutshell):

1. We’d rather be right than be happy
2. We choose success over happiness
3. We want to be happier than our neighbour
4. We focus on what we lack rather than on what we have

Our level of fulfilment seems to be inversely correlated to the size of the things we appreciate in life. The more we appreciate the smaller things, the happier we feel. That’s why tirelessly seeking bigger successes often doesn’t bring the happiness we hoped for.

Successful people build their life on solid foundations-long-term relationships, continuous education, valuable skills, curiosity, or patience.

Unsuccessful people try to use people to make money, jump on trends, or look for “shortcuts”. Their life is built on quicksands.

How most people think:

Money > time > energy > attention

How I suggest we think:

Attention > energy > time > money

Our attention dictates what we channel our energy toward, which determines how we use our time, which, ultimately, impacts how much money we can make.

Internet is just a tool.

Use it rather than being used by it.

When we use the internet to capture attention, we can spread our message and impact the world, sometimes at a scale never seen before.

When we go on it to give away our attention, we’re at the mercy of other people's agendas and can easily be manipulated.

Control your attention...

or someone else will control it for their own benefits.

Your attention is your most valuable asset. What you do with it and how you direct it each day will determine a large part of your future.
