Ogun surgeon makes history with Nigeria’s first tele-robotic surgery

A surgeon in Mowe, Ogun State, remotely performed a complex kidney cancer operation on a patient in Abuja, about 500 kilometres away.

Using a robotic system, the surgeon operated in real time from Ogun while the patient underwent the procedure at Nisa Premier Hospital in Abuja.
