THE 'MIRACLE CROSS' AT GROUND ZERO 🇺🇸✝️

25 years ago, amid the unforgettable devastation of Ground Zero, a 17-foot-long crossbeam weighing at least two tons was discovered standing in the wreckage of the World Trade Center.

Franciscan priest Fr. Brian Jordan, who had been blessing the remains of victims, saw the cross as a powerful reminder that God had not abandoned Ground Zero. He fought to preserve it, blessed it, and for months celebrated Sunday Mass there, ministering to firefighters, police officers, recovery workers and grieving families.

From unimaginable tragedy emerged this powerful symbol of faith, hope, healing, and redemption. The cross remains part of the 9/11 Memorial Museum today. Even after atheist groups tried to have it removed, a judge ruled that it could remain on display because of its historical significance.

While staying in the lobby of the North Tower to offer comfort, absolution, and last rites, Father was the official first fatality of 9/11 after the tower was hit with debris from the collapse of the South Tower.

This was the final homily he gave to the NYFD the day before dying in the World Trade Center. Never forget the priests who will face danger to give us the necessary sacraments.

The CIA just declassified 71 Presidential Daily Briefs spanning 1998 through September 2001 on the anniversary of 9/11

One of the documents, dated December 4, 1998, warned President Clinton that Bin Laden and his allies were preparing attacks inside the United States, including aircraft hijackings. It said operatives had already done a trial run and evaded security at a New York airport.

Members of the network had received hijack training. Another 1998 brief was titled “Reports That Bin Laden is Planning Attacks Inside the US.” The well-known August 6, 2001 PDB “Bin Laden Determined To Strike in US” came more than a month before the attacks.

Some never made it home.
Some gave everything trying to save a stranger.
Some carried the scars of that day for the rest of their lives.
