DOA6 is not balanced at all
DOA6’s mechanics can make a character unplayable, if your anti-step moves are too slow or you barely have any, you can get destroyed just by steps alone.
-Some characters can reach danger zones/walls easily
-Stun to launch: there are no stun levels, so it’s easier to deal damage, and if you’re playing a character who can reach danger zones easily, it’s GG, shake my hand
In DOA5 we had different launcher heights. In DOA6, nope, which means you eat the max launch even after a simple 6P that can give a small stun, and with a fast launcher on top you take 80~100 damage
-The 4S is really annoying: you finally got an opening, your opponent decides to 4S, and we’re back to neutral
The 6S is plus on block sabaki
-Bad ground game: the person waking up is way more dangerous than the one who knocked them down, thanks to step, 6S, and ground game invincibility
-We lose stun duration, which makes some stuns useless
-Some characters have two fatal stuns (4H+K — Ryu, Kasumi…) that let them do way more damage after a 6S and give a better launcher because the opponent flies higher
-The maps 🤡
In DOA5LR you could suffer through matchups, but not because of DOA5’s mechanics, whereas in DOA6 you suffer both the matchups AND DOA6’s mechanics.
In DOA6 you can have way less game knowledge and your opponent is still more dangerous because of everything I listed. In DOA5LR you could get by with your knowledge of the game.
So that ironically makes it a less balanced game. (I’m probably forgetting other stuff, this is just what comes to mind)
@UniteVids I think the fact that they're also Dragon-type influences their lack of fear of water.
In Charizard case, I guess the fact that's a water from a hot spring.
@CFC_Samzzy1 It was bland. It was fair Ash to lose a league when the anime was still so early, but why forcing a guy with legendaries pokémons? Obviously losing to a moron like Cameron was even worse. Black & White anime is full with mistakes.
Harrison, Tyson and Alain >>>>>>>>
@oirandrive Real reason: KT wanted less work for more profit.
But that excuse means KT will use it more times to kill tag battles and, maybe, to use them in an appropriate spin-off game, like Tekken series did (Tekken Tag Tournament).
Damn it got down to 77 players o.o yikes, yeah #doa6lr total flop. But this post is made to talk about the problem a lot of overly competitive sweaty players bring to casual games like doa.
The try hard sweat ranked players after 3 days started going back to casual lobbies. Casual player base which was doing quite decent first few days now were getting 10k + hour players join who id say majority just wanted to stomp new players.
Of course their not going to have fun when people are going to 100 - 0 them in few seconds each round and yes a lot of these high level players do that. So they end up quitting entirely and yes in doa 6 i know cause I experienced it when i was brand new years ago. They would non stop sweat, beat me 20 games in a row and down line when i would win they instant leave usually lol. Or they maybe start trash talking which ive also experienced.
The actual reason a lot of them stop playing ranked is cause they don't even like fighting each other in a competitive scene so they will go after weaker fighters to try hard against. Ya know to get them easy wins and casual stats which is silly. Most of them don't care about other players having fun which is also sad.
You know how easy it is to show some restraint when you clearly know the person your fighting is no where as good?
Typically if I fight someone new ill block a lot more, let them try to get in hits or grabs, ill try to do moves I normally never do and ill make it so least they get to play the game. And ill try out a range of characters so they can experience what fighting them are like. Sadly I only known a few and I mean a few high level players willing to show restraint against people way worse then them.
Its like i say time and time again 95 to 99 percent of gamers are casuals cause they are.
