@mmarotta@csheil A4: I am planning to launch a "golden age" of Gardner project. The students are going to be given a budget that they can use to spend on improvements in the city of Gardner. The goal is to create ideas that will usher in a "golden age" into our community. #gafefsu
@mmarotta@csheil A3: Having an authentic audience provides authentic feedback. It does encourage students to take pride in their work since they are presenting it. The feedback gives students a sense of how well they did or what they need to adjust to make their presentation better. #gafefsu
@mmarotta@csheil A2: Pg 177. "We mistake our way into genius" Everything we do requires several failures along the way. Whether it's trying a app, program or idea it will run into areas where you may fail. and that's ok. We learn and grow. #gafefsu
@mmarotta@csheil I think school doesn't look like real life because we are trying to teach small sections of it to the students a little at a time. Life is is difficult and overwhelming, but what we can do is teach them small skills that will be more helpful to students in the long run. #gafefsu
#flipgrid is catching on with my students. It's been great to see of my students responding to social and emotional questions. Using #screencastify has helped me walk students through the process. #gafefsu
@mmarotta@spencerideas@csheil It's all about in moderation. Having a healthy balance between technology and real life interactions/experiences is key. Technology allows us to reach out and allows us to create but having the basic skills and life experiences are essential as well. #gafefsu
Using #screencastify has been enjoyable for my students throughout this remote learning process. It still does not fully replace the in classroom interactions with the students unfortunately. #gafefsu

A friend introduced me to this the other day. It's similar to screencastify but it allows you to do so much more. One thing I liked about it is that I can edit it so that I am lecturing while there are slides or videos playing on the screen as well.
@mmarotta@csheil A2: Having an authentic audience encourages the students to work harder and is more meaningful. It's where they can gain authentic feedback for their ideas and presentation. It helps create a real life scenario versus just in school experience. #gafefsu
@mmarotta@csheil A1: It is crucial to allow students to have time that is needed throughout the creative process. While they are working there way through the creative process it is also helpful to check in with the students or groups to re-enforce their ideas and encourage them. #gafefsu
@NickCanelas @mmarotta@csheil I like the idea of of having flexible timelines as well. It's essential to make sure the students are engaged in the assignment or topic they are working on because if they are not they may work at a snails pace and reach any of the steps or tasks
After using screencastify I feel it will allow me to reach students at a whole new level. This will help me work towards creating a flipped classroom for some of my upcoming lesson. #gafcfsu

@mmarotta@csheil@spencerideas The Test! I currently teach in a school that struggles with standardized test scores (MCAS). As a teacher I am constantly reminded that we need to teach the students how to mark up the text and answer questions that will appear on a standardized test.
@mmarotta@csheil@spencerideas Creativity is looking at an original idea and thinking outside of the box. Itโs questioning an idea and using your skills to make it reality.
