Jake Berry shitting the bed about Easter Creme Eggs in January despite celebrating the exact same thing 10 years ago, and in the process accidentally highlighting the ridiculous shrinkflation his party has presided over is the perfect start to 2024.
@angelaeagle Hi Angela - while I absolutely defend right to share info on MP voting records, I think the language accompanying the Green Party graphic was misjudged. I had no prior knowledge before it was published but have raised my serious concerns internally to ensure it won't happen again
I've seen some divisive and misleading things from the Greens in my time, but this is sickening, dangerous and factually wrong.
All MPs voted either for a ceasefire or humanitarian pause, both suspending the fighting one way or another. None voted for killing to continue.
Last night Parliament had the opportunity to vote to support a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza.
Sadly, the Labour party is in chaos and is failing to deliver what constituents are demanding.
Is your MP on the list?
#CeasefireNowInGaza
No matter your view on the situation, the Green Party weaponising atrocities in Gaza to raise already-heightened tensions towards Members of Parliament through misleading rhetoric for political gain is despicable and something which should be condemned.
I appreciate people want a reply within a few days, but we've had over 2,000 emails in the past week on Gaza.
On top of this, every system is collapsing for our constituents; NHS, DWP, Home Office, council housing, and more people than ever are coming to their MP for help.
@steve_mccabe As constituents, my wife and I have emailed you. We have had no response. I have heard similar from other local constituents, some of whom are Labour Party members.
Perhaps you could skip the rhetorical questions on twitter and respond to your mail?
So, this week the Home Office have switched to a new system of responding to MP enquiries, and the quality of replies about people's applications has *plummeted*.
Once again on the "protective ring" thrown around care homes as now being discussed on #bbcaq, looking back at this message from a care home manager in the middle of last May is saddening.
Katy works for me. She is single & earns less than 30k, rents a room for ยฃ775pcm in Central London, has student debt, ยฃ120 a month on travelling to work saves money every month, goes on foreign holidays & does not need to use a foodbank.
Katy makes my point really well.
