What's confirmed about the Nov. 1 Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County, Florida — and what should stay off the timeline until investigators confirm it. CONFIRMED: - Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, about 12:50 p.m. local: a Learjet 60, tail N722BD, crashed near Cresthaven, Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida. - Flight: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Texas (AUS) → North Eleuthera Airport, Bahamas (ELH). It left Austin around 9:37 a.m. local. - Nine people were aboard; all died, confirmed by U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. Officials reported no immediate ground fatalities or injuries; about 600 nearby residents were sheltered or evacuated. - LiveATC recordings: crew reported moderate turbulence and light clear ice, requested a climb, then declared an emergency. Reported descent rates rose from roughly 8,000 to 10,000, 20,000 and 22,000 feet per minute; Flightradar24 recorded a rate above 32,000 ft/min before the last tracked altitude of 8,750 feet. - Dashcam footage shows a near-vertical dive into a residential area beside a busy road, with a large fireball and crater. - NTSB is leading the investigation with FAA assistance; investigators were on scene Sunday and Monday, with a planned media briefing in West Palm Beach. NOT CONFIRMED YET: - Names, ages, roles of the two pilots and seven passengers; official crew/passenger split. - Whether the female voice in the recordings was Nathalia Filgueiras, the Florida flyer named in online speculation. Her 2023 high-school license story and a March 2026 jet post are real background context, but authorities have not confirmed she was aboard. - Probable cause: icing, stabilizer failure, systems, control loss, weather decision, maintenance or pilot qualification. A still frame suggesting a missing horizontal stabilizer is an observation, not an NTSB finding. - Any ground impact details beyond the official scene report. Until the NTSB releases the manifest, preliminary findings and probable cause, do not post names as fact, do not assign blame to the pilots, and do not repeat unconfirmed speculation about the aircraft's failure mode.
