Last Monday, BC Robert Barna represented LAFD at the 2026 Verdexchange, sharing how the department is building fire resilience across Los Angeles. Proud to be part of these conversations, not just on the fireground, but at the table where our communities' future is being shaped.
LAFD Air Operations rescued a 35 year old woman was located on a steep hillside approximately 100 yards above Sesnon Road. Fire 1 hoisted a medic to assess the patient and safely hoisted her to the roadway.
The patient had no injuries.

LAFD crews knocked down a residential fire today, rescuing 2 dogs and 2 adults. The dogs received on-scene O2 and were reunited with their owner to head to the vet. The adults have been transported to a local hospital. The @RedCrossLA is now assisting those displaced.

Sherman Oaks - Approximately 80 LAFD firefighters achieved full extinguishment of an apartment fire in 2 hours and 34 minutes. LAFD Arson is investigating the cause of the fire.

Sandy Fire Update. As of 7:00 PM, May 20, CAL FIRE reports fire size at 2,115 acres and 22% contained. Residents in affected areas are encouraged to remain prepared to evacuate should conditions worsen and to continue monitoring official alerts.
