Today we were delighted to welcome Cllr Claire Kemp, Chair of the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Regeneration and Growth Committee, to our offices — and on board one of our buses — to meet some of our Service Users as part of our Real Stories – Real Barriers series.
With this year’s theme, “More than a Minibus,” Cllr Kemp heard directly from our service users about how community transport enables connection with family, friends, and the wider community.
Great and informative visit to Lagan Valley Rural Transport yesterday afternoon to catch up with all their fantastic work and to discuss issues facing the sector. This is such a lifeline to those in rural areas without access to a car or public transport, but also their urban scheme for those registered with Disability Action (you can register if over 80 or registered blind or in receipt of PIP/DLA).
Please contact the organisation for further details or reach out to me or my office!
Thank you all for the warm welcome and I look forward to continuing to work with you on these vital services in the time ahead!

SING stands for Senior Information Networking Group and it is a brilliant group that empowers and informs our older people and is a valuable resource.
We know that older people do better when they are supported to live at home and events and information like this are key to making this happen! 🏡
The singing exercises we did were especially funny 😁 😂
