Only 158 days until Christmas!
The power of community was on display tonight as Orlando celebrated America's 250th birthday. Susie and I had a blast joining so many residents at @LakeEolaPark for Fireworks at the Fountain.
A look back as we celebrate 250 years of America 🇺🇸
Today we opened the Lake Eola Time Capsule, buried in 1976 during the nation’s Bicentennial. Inside were newspapers, photographs and other pieces of Orlando’s history, saved by community leaders for future generations.

Flipping through the photo album for America’s 250th 🇺🇸📷
Join us next Monday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the City Hall Rotunda as we open the 1976 Lake Eola Time Capsule. We’ll look back at a piece of history and add a few new memories to the collection!
Before it was history, it was just another Orlando summer. With America’s 250th almost here, we’re still celebrating what’s always made us special: good people, time together, & long days in the sun! ☀️🇺🇸

No catch, just FREE TREES 🌳
We’ll handle the planting while you enjoy the benefits: more shade, stronger neighborhood tree canopy, and lower utility bills!
Orlando residents, request a free tree for your yard at https://t.co/8hMjmB6dID.
Today marks 10 years since the Pulse tragedy. It's hard to believe it's been a decade since the lives of 49 people - with their own goals and dreams - were taken. Although time has passed our community continues to send love to their families, survivors and each person impacted.
❤️🧡💛June 12, 2016 💚💙💜
Ten years ago today, our community was forever changed. Today, and always, we remember and honor the lives of the 49 Angels, we continue to stand with the families and survivors and we show the world we are Orlando United. 🕊️
Remembering with love. Honor the 49 angels at the Colonialtown Square Park Labyrinth, Lighting of the Pulse Site and Prayer Ribbons Memorial Exhibition.
