Two 'refugees' from Syria were given a home in the UK to escape from the troubles in their indigenous homeland.

They repaid the UK's hospitality by raping a 13 year old child repeatedly. They told her she would be killed or taken to another country if she didn't do as they asked.

Their excuse?

They fled a warzone, they were 'easily led', they were 'haunted' by their experiences in Syria.

The vulnerable child tried to learn their language and started reading the Quran in an attempt to befriend the men, and in return she was "abused and passed around", the judge said.

This was only in March 2024.
