in a world where everything is defined with labels, what would you do when you realized that labels are restrictive? would you try to free yourself from this urge to label relationships a certain way?

The fact that the majority of Americans preferred republicans on the economy for so long has got to be one of the most successful propaganda campaigns in modern history because every time a republican gets in office they ruin the economy and everybody is worse off.
This merger is bad for New Yorkers three times over. Thousands of jobs at risk here in the city. Streaming bills going up as competition disappears. And two of America’s most powerful media companies under one roof, deciding what you watch and what you hear.
Today, as Warner Bros. and Paramount shareholders vote, New York City is on record: this merger should be stopped.
“I always wanted to reclaim this genre,” director Adrian Chiarella told IndieWire of "Leviticus."
“This is a horror movie, and I always felt like horror films were really shaped by queer writers for queer audiences, and in a lot of ways we were reclaiming that space. This is a film about two boys who fall in love, and about the community that tries to erase that feeling that they have for each other. And the curse that they unintentionally unleash.”

hyunjin talking about his song “lover” that came out recently (2026)
🥟: about a year ago i finished writing the melody, took the melody guide, and just left it aside.. since i’m that lover boy, i thought, let’s build a story like that, the lover boy dies. it feels like “i won’t be able to date anyone else but you. but why didn’t you love me? did you even love me at all?” — i tried planning it with that kind of storyline.
i think i recorded it about 6 times. because compared to my voice from a year ago and my voice now, something always felt lacking. i keep practicing and improving, and the finished recordings are still there, so i’d think “ah i feel like i could do better now?” and record again, then more time passes and i’d think “i’ve improved even more now, wouldn’t it come out better if I redo it?” and record again… so if we count the complete final versions of the whole song, i think i properly re-recorded it 3–4 times?
🥟: lover honestly wasn’t really inspired by one specific thing. i just created that kind of situation in his head, imagined those dramatic feelings, became that character, and the lyrics just flowed out naturally.
As promised, an essay on this subject, and my first Substack of the year. I argue that it’s not just that we’re moaning in English because of colonialism and neocolonialism, but that indigenous languages are becoming extinct. Read, comment, share.
