There are two polar-opposite responses to childhood brokenness.

1. Repeat the cycle. This is the default. “You become what you behold.” When you behold absent fathers, easy divorce, and “modern families” that foist loss onto children, you are more likely to become an adult who insists your own children sacrifice so you can indulge your desires.

2. Break the cycle. Let the pain and deprivation you experienced as a child drive you to build the family you wish you’d had. These men and women hold even more tenaciously to their marriages. They double down on connection with and investment in their children. They refuse to make their children live through what they endured.

Woe to our culture that deprives children of what they deserve by normalizing, promoting, and incentivizing adult selfishness.

Cheers to the men and women who reject the pattern modeled for them and give their children what they themselves were denied.

I’m a constitutional conservative. I voted for Trump three times. I don’t believe in forever wars, I want secure elections, less federal spending, lower taxes, free markets, strong borders, and a government that actually stays inside its constitutional lane.

What I do not want is this postliberal idea that Washington should decide what the “common good” is and then use impose it on everyone else.

I can oppose endless military interventions without wanting America weak or isolated. I want overwhelming deterrence, strong alliances where they serve American interests, and the ability to defeat threats without occupying half the planet for twenty years. I also don’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon but I want deterrence and containment that actually works, not senseless entanglement or another open-ended war in the Middle East.

I can want Washington to stop running trillion-dollar deficits without pretending the solution is to surrender one of the greatest economic advantages this country possesses: the dollar’s role as the world’s reserve currency. If politicians are abusing that privilege by overspending, the answer is stop the spending, not destroy the privilege.

I want the rest of the world choosing American markets, American assets, American businesses, and American dollars because we remain the safest, freest, most productive economy on earth.

Strong nation. Limited government. Secure borders. Secure elections. Fiscal discipline. Free markets. Constitutional rights. Military strength without permanent war. American economic dominance without central planning.

You do not fix the failures of big government by creating a different version of big government and calling it the “common good.”

And I have absolutely zero interest in abandoning constitutional conservatism for postliberal slop just because some people on the right decided freedom, markets, divided power, and limited government aren’t a magic wand that can undo decades of problematic spending and policy.

In Islam, when the Romans came to arrest Jesus, he hid among his disciples and offered them a deal:

“Who will take my place, and Allah will reward him with a castle in paradise?”

The Islamic Jesus bargains for his own survival. He offers paradise as currency for someone else’s suffering.

He escapes and someone else dies.

This fits perfectly with Muhammad’s method, castles, virgins, rivers of wine, palm trees in paradise, divine bribery, used to extract whatever Muhamed desired from his followers.

The Islamic version of Jesus is repackaged in Muhammad’s image: transactional, self-preserving, power-driven.

The real Jesus, the biblical Jesus, didn't ask anyone to die for him, he died for us.

The people in this painting—on the deck of the Speedwell in 1620—are the Pilgrims whose departure from Holland is commemorated in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.

The painting depicts the first leg of their long journey, which would end in Massachusetts.

They were sailing to England to join the Mayflower, the ship that would ultimately carry them to Plymouth after the Speedwell proved unseaworthy and had to turn back.

They left Europe to build a community grounded in the Bible, family, and the conviction that every human life is made in the image of God and is therefore sacred.

Even the armor lying on the deck is telling: they were not abandoning the need for self-defense, but seeking to establish a new community ordered by their faith rather than endless conflict.

What would they make of Massachusetts’ new law extending abortion rights until the moment of birth?

I imagine they’d be absolutely horrified.

They crossed an ocean so their children could live free under God’s law, not so later generations could decide which unborn children may be discarded, including those already capable of surviving outside the womb.

The same Christian moral framework that shaped their understanding of religious liberty also taught them that the deliberate taking of innocent human life is a grave offense against God—and against the most vulnerable among their fellow human beings.

The painting hangs in the Capitol as a reminder of the people who helped plant the seeds of this nation.

Massachusetts was their destination—and their destiny.

The law just signed there is a profound rejection of the moral inheritance they carried ashore.

For apathetic Republican voters who plan to stay home in November, if Democrats somehow win the House and Senate, you'll never get your country back.

The stakes are that high.

Communist Democrats are openly saying loudly what they will do if they win.

While we conservatives are violently debating the meaning of the words "common good" and saying we won't vote because John Thune is a RINO, Democrats (i) have enshrined abortion up to birth, (ii) want to abolish the police, prison and national borders, (iii) have embraced literal Communism and (iv) think they can bring jihadists into their fold without it blowing up (literally) in their faces.

It's fine for us on the Right to debate the finer points of conservatism. But at the end of the day the only actual defense we have against the sheer paganistic evil of the Democrats is the Republican Party, weak though it may be.

We need to keep working hard to support our conservative beliefs inside the only party that can actually accomplish anything, so disagreement at this point is fine, necessary and productive.

But when the GOP candidates get chosen, we need to rally behind them even though they don't support 100% of what we want, because the sole alternative is a Communist pagan death cult determined to burn down our nation.

That's the choice:

1. Holding your nose to vote for someone who gives you only 75% of what you want.

-or-

2. Being consumed by a Communist pagan death cult determined to burn down our nation.

There is no third choice. It does not exist. This is not the logical error of a false dichotomy.

No, I am simply stating a stark and painful reality.

In 2019, in an effort to communicate why Christians should care about politics, I came up with this mantra: “Politics matters because policy matters because people matter. Politics affects policy, policy affects people, and people matter.”

Abortion is perhaps the most obvious example of that truth. The legalized slaughter of babies should be enough to animate every Christian to do everything possible, both personally and politically, to join the fight.

I have no tolerance for the Christians - and especially the pastors - who see abortion as “too divisive” and therefore a subject to be avoided or caveated to death. We are literally talking about helpless babies being poisoned and dismembered. It is the child sacrifice of old, just euphemized and sterilized. If you can’t speak up now, you wouldn’t have spoken up then.

For all of the black square posting, social justice posturing of Mushy Middle Christians, when it comes to something as tangible and as clear as abortion, suddenly they’re full of nuance and trepidation.

Let me break it you: abortion isn’t nuanced. They’re just cowards.

And it’s not because they “don’t want to be political,” it’s because they don’t want to be Biblical. You can’t even get through Genesis 1 without seeing the sanctity of life, the definition of marriage, and the reality of male and female.

For the Christian, these aren’t just “culture war” issues. They’re Biblical ones. And if you won’t engage in them, it’s not because you don’t want to be divisive, it’s because you don’t want to be a Christian.

Christians have stood against the slaughter and objectification of children for millennia. When we stop, darkness prevails and thousands of babies endure slow and torturous murders at the hands of bloodthirsty merchants of death.

While residents packed the room, U.S. Congressman Keith Self looked the Mayor and City Council dead in the eye and refused to soft-pedal reality.

By the way, take a moment to listen to the crowd irrupt with cheers when they heard it was their congressman!

Self reminded them of 1,400 years of political Islam that cannot be wished away.

He named the UK’s industrial-scale rape gangs: a quarter of a million non-Muslim girls abducted, passed around, and discarded, a deliberate demonstration of dominance over the laws of the land.

He exposed the sickest part: police arresting the victims for “public drunkenness” rather than be called racist or Islamophobic.

Then he brought it home to Texas.

“I know you’re in the accommodation phase, but the intimidation phase follows quickly. It’s already happening in cities in Texas.

Child marriage. Honor killings. Don’t tell me it can’t happen here because it’s already happened in Texas.

Beating your wife. Polygamy. All condoned under Sharia.
Political Islam.”

He drove the point home that freedom of conscience does not exist under this system: the penalty for leaving is death.

He cited modern American imams preaching open sedition against the U.S. Constitution.

Then he put the choice squarely on the Council:

“This is your time. This is your moment of truth. This is your time for choosing.
This is your time to choose to honor your oath that starts with the U.S. Constitution.

There is no state cavalry coming to save you. This is your time.”

Congressman Self has been fighting this fight with everything he has to protect Texas from the march of Islamic supremacy.

Tonight he stood in McKinney and spoke for every Texan who still believes the Constitution is not optional.

It is so incredible to watch so many Heroes who have have risen.

Now the leaders must decide whose side they are on.

I'm not what you'd call a keen observer of the political climate in our country, but I do pay attention, broadly, to what's going on within our two parties. Watching the latest from @billmaher, I was reminded of how we struggle to reconcile our support for an idea we might like, if it’s promoted by a politician we hate. And vice versa. Here though, we have an opportunity - Democrats, in particular - to speak out loudly and clearly against an ideology that has been proven, demonstrably, to be a really bad idea.

It’s alarming to see how quickly communism has been embraced by so many, but it's even more alarming, to see how many have yet to condemn it, in favor of sheltering under a “big tent.” This week, Gavin Newsom dismissed concerns over Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and progressive candidates winning key primaries, stating he would gladly campaign for them. He argued that the party must be in the "addition, not subtraction business" to retake control of Congress.
Not that anyone asked me, but…wow. The candidates that Newsom is referring to here are not subtle. They have clearly articulated precisely what they want, and exactly what they will try to accomplish if they gain power. No borders. No police. No prisons. No Senate. From each according to his needs, from each according to his abilities, and so forth. They are literally quoting Karl Marx, and they are literally on the record as desiring to completely dismantle our government and replace it with actual communism. And the Governor of California says he will campaign on their behalf, if doing so will result in a Congressional win. Truly amazing.

Seems to me, that this is best opportunity Democrats will ever have to make some kind of reasonable appeal to Independents, and those not on board with this administration. This is a chance to affirmatively distance themselves from an ideology that has caused more human suffering than any other scheme dreamt up by man. And yet, they have not.

I understand how unpopular President Trump is in the eyes of many. But if the DSA continues to grow in popularity, and the Democrats actually campaign on their behalf, I think it’ll be the largest political blunder in my lifetime. Unless of course, I’m wrong, and the DSA expands to swallow the Democratic Party, and communism winds up on the ballot. In which case, Ronald Reagan’s warning will haunt us all.
