Dr. Karl Kwok, gastroenterologist at #KPLAMC, spoke with @kcalnews about the importance of early detection and treatment of #colorectalcancer and encouraged patients to have open discussions with their doctors. https://t.co/7kexgwIYKF #ColorectalCancerAwarenessMonth
Thank you @Fox35Amy for the opportunity to educate the #Orlando community on #ColonCancer & importance of #Screening
⭐️Early detection = better survival
⭐️When caught early, colon cancer is 90% curable.
⭐️Many people with early colon cancer have no symptoms ➡️ screening is the most powerful prevention tool!
⭐️Average risk: Start at age 45 (earlier if you have risk factors).
⭐️High risk: (family history, inflammatory bowel disease, genetic syndromes) – may need screening earlier
Amazing to see so many GIs sharing about the importance of #ColorectalCancer screening starting at age 45! 🤩 Tag @AmerGastroAssn if you have a TV appearance so we can reshare! #CRCMonth
